2018 Olympic Figure Skating Team Event Day 1

I'm telling you all the men will be better once the Olympics actually start. They are slow starters. It's going to be a great men's event. I feel it in my bones.

Ok now we know who to lob poohs at if it doesn't turn out so great. I'm blaming you

the only uplifting thing so far is the German Eurosport commentator who forgot his microphone was on when he let out a looooouud yawn during break. That was hilarious. Apart from that the skates are(apart from a few exceptions) disappointing...

Not as many times as the mention Nathan’s meltdown. I predict he’s back on the ice as soon as they leave the arena.

Nathan already has been on practice ice after his team SP (before he was sitting in team K and C for pairs).

(I posted about it in his fan thread.)

Wishing him well in the individual competition.

Congratulations to the Knierims :yay:.

BTW #1:
Their NBC Nightly News profile aired tonight. Both Chris and Alexa (understandably for both) got very emotional when speaking of her medical ordeal. :sad4: :ghug:

BTW #2:
I think Alexa applied her bedazzling skills to her USOC hat.

Unrelated BTW for those watching the NBC telecast:

If you happened to notice the young girl who was figure skating in the SunTrust ad, she was Elise Freezer. :)

And yes, the ice is being resurfaced before the final group of pairs.

German Eurosport is showing a little talk about Savchenko and Massot.

Wow. I have never watched something similar over 10 years Savchenko/Szolkowy.

I have the lousiest memory. Eurosport treating us to a replay of Davis/White in Sochi... I have *no* recollection of this My Fair Lady program. None whatsoever. I've never been more ashamed in my entire life. What a Thing of Beauty!

Totally do remember their Scheherazade program, though. :luv17:

I'm sick of NBC but this is my only means of watching right now. I had thought they would show everything i.e. all of the men's SPs on one of their sister channels but they didn't. Also is it true the ice quality is too hard? Which is why the men were falling like flies?

Ooo, Elise. Do you happen to know how she's doing? I was looking for her at Nationals but didn't see her this year.
