Well hello! After a 4 year break (last post was during Sochi), I’m back! However, I have my hands full. I have an infant son to take care of! So I’ll be dropping in from time to time for some commentary!

This is real freaking life: my brother, who I’ve been trying to get a hold of for four days, just texted to tell me all about the cat he adopted on Monday. He's already sent three 5+ minute videos of the thing, and there are more to come....
DOES HE NOT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?!?! Oh my god, my phone is getting tossed out the window into the yard if he’s still talking at 8 o’clock. Wrecking the 2016 GPF for me by showing up uninvited seems like nothing compared to this. :ddevil:

I can't wait! I know a lot of people aren't that into the team event, but I like it. I'm hoping it'll get the major skating countries to improve in the areas they lack in order to have a shot at gold. Like the US with pairs or Japan with pairs and dance. It could improve the sport.
The Olympics are my favorite thing in the world. Especially in my 3 favorite sports. Figure skating, gymnastics, diving.
I like skiing too, the only other thing slated for primetime tonight. But I do hope NBC shows us all of the men and all of the pairs.
From what I can see, the stream on NBC's site only shows the TV broadcast so if they don't show the complete event, we can't see it in the US. That's concerning. I really want to see the early group in all the events!

I’m super impressed, CBC just interviewed Scott Moir and he didn’t put his foot in his mouth! Neither did Chiddy when he was interviewed earlier! Has that ever happened before?

IKR! This time last year (Exactly 4 years ago today) I was in day 3 of me being a skating fan and I wasn't yet a fan of Kevin Reynolds yet. I was in my 2nd semester of undergrad, I only had 20 credits done (I had 6 done in high school in dual enrollment English), and I wasn't so involved in skating fandom. I wasn't into other sports too much, I was 18 years old, I hadn't experience a type of grieving of sorts before, I wasn't as creative in thinking in figure skating songs, etc.
I'm very thankful for these past 4 years in my life. Being a fan of skating has changed my life forever. I traveled to 3 Skate Americas, 1 World Championships, and 1 Skate America. I met skaters. I have made new friends. I have experienced staying up late to watch streams and waking up early to watch streams. I had to find links on livestreams. I joined this forum and FSU (Which I don't go on FSU anymore really). So much good has come to my life. An Olympic cycle has happened. I can't wait to see what the next Olympic cycle will bring to me.
