I have never seen a "soulless" performance by Shoma. But, this was certainly not his best. He is just a bit better at containing his nerves than the others.

I am really underwhelmed by the men's event. Not sure what is going on. Didn't feel like the Olympics. Everyone is probably saving themselves?

They were all jumping ok in practice and warmup. My money's on nerves.

I don't even get why they don't just let all countries do both halves. It's weird for the SP to be worth so much more and 10 entries isn't a lot in the first place. It'd also be more interesting because you'd have potential spoilers like Bychenko throwing a wrench into predictable finishes.
