Love Carolina but I am hoping to see more inspired skates from her in the individual competition.

I have mixed feelings about Alina and her program. On one hand, she is brilliant with the structure of the program and using the scoring system against itself. On the other hand, I agree completely with what Ashley tweeted:

"Ok. I respect the competitive approach. But no cannot do this set up. It's not a program. She killed time in the beginning and then just jumped the second half. It's not a performance. I understand that this is what the system allows but it's not all figure skating is about"

Zagitova's momentum isn't going anywhere. I predict a WR for her in the ladies event if she goes clean.

I struggle to see how she's better than sakamoto on pcs, by nearly 9 points, no less.

Alina isn't a smooth or as artistic as most other top skaters but I like her style, I like how she's unashamedly going for the biggest athleticism and endurance while still giving a performance.

I think she's becoming My Skater among the women. Even though I feel Evgenia likely deserves the gold medal, and I'd feel worse for her than any other gold medal favourite if she doesn't get it, I'd be more than ok with an Alina win.

Ice dance is not really a fluctuating discipline

Zagitova's skirt is so strange to me. I like the bodice and gloves, but the skirt is like a tutu but not quite a tutu. I know it's supposed to be a balletic program but it just bothers me, as do the tights half on the boots.

A tutu done right looks like Elena Ilinykh's in the free dance. Not... that.
