2018 Olympic Figure Skating Team Event Day 3

Unfortunate fall from Chris.
I like this program and I like them a lot though. Especially the second half. It's so beautiful and floaty and joyous.

Probably because Mirai came in second and Bradie would have been below Caro?

edit: also US champions or not the Shibs clearly gave the USFS more reasons to trust them for this over the past quad. Too little too late for H/D and C/B.

There was no way to predict that Mirai would do that well. She could have been anywhere from 2nd to 5th.

Disagree strongly with your second statement. H/D especially have done more than enough this season to be trustworthy, whereas the Shibutanis have gone in the opposite direction.

I like this piano version of Merry Xmas Mr. Lawrence. Pity about the slip/fall. Not happening for Japan...

yeah, "beaten" by some one hundres of a point
you forget to mention that it's the 3rd highest PCS ever achieved at the junior level. and alina also has a junior world record in PCS from JGPF
comparing junior level PCS to seniors is really smart btw

We also tend to forget to mention that even then the PCS scores were inflated considering Gubanova was there and skated flawlessly, yet still somehow managed to land behind Zagitova in PCS.

I couldn't get on the board since Mirai finished her FS! Now I can finally cheer!

Me 2, just got on and was sooooo happy when Mirai completed her tripple axel. So proud of her!!! Maybe she should try to but that jump in the second part of her program and get double points for it. I have always liked Mirai and will always remember when she was 18th in some compitition in the short and came all the back to 6th in the long program! That was fantastic!!! Congrat's Mirai on completing the tripple Axel. Pulling for you in the ladies program.

I'm so overjoyed for Mirai. THAT is why you put the higher potential skater in the event, not Bradie freaking Tennell, who would have lost to Daleman. It's too bad Karen Chen also did not get her opportunity to shine in SP and obtain more points for Team USA, allowing a Silver medal to happen if Nathan Chen had been used for the LP. And now we have to sit through the Shibutani's boring Free Dance instead of a better one from Hubbell/Donahue or Chock/Bates.

inflated or not, but alina always had the highest PCS in the field. it's not like she got all of her PCS out of nowhere

I really love the concept behind this program... The birth and bloom of the cherry blossom, so quintessential to Japan!
Nice rebound. During that last lift my heart absolutely skipped a beat, though. So scary.

So what. Bradie PCS jumped the same way comparing to that same Juniors World. Kaori is getting much higher now too.

Right..and you should only inflate one but not the other? How about all inflation is simply wrong and unfair. Or if you inflate, inflate across consistently. Not just to selected few... which is exactly what has been happening these quads, especially to anointed Russia number 1s.

Kana & Chris skating better than ever, shame about the fall, but it happens. Redemption in a week ! :clapper:
