Me too. And I think they'll go... why not?
S/K didn't even finish the competition and they have a history of bombing in the past... so?

S/K got their chance last season, and could only manage 10th.
I think Z/G are quite capable of doing better than 10th, they are one of the only teams with a level 4 rumba.

I get that S/K have bigger scoring potential than Z/G but they are not really in the mix for medals with P/C, C/L, B/S (and S/B) competing.
Russia is in no danger of losing 3 spots with both B/S and S/B.
Nikita is injured and Z/G are healthy.

I see no reason for sending S/K.

The rhumba is quite good. But the FD is a total dud. Top 10? Questionable.

They have the 6th highest season's best of those likely to go to Euros, so I don't think top 10 is out of the question

I don't really see a possibility of SK being sent to Euros (although obviously I'm hoping and praying for it) so I don't think you have a reason to panic.
However
As for level 4 rhumba
Minsk - level 3
Zagreb - level 3 and minus goe
Beijing - level 4
Lake Placid - level 4, yet lost to SK words had level 1
So no, it doesn't look like level 4 rhumba is their huge advantage over other teams.
That said, I believe that sending them to Euros would be a fair decision (I really don't see RusFed not sending them, tbh). They have finished in 3rd after all and fairly so.

Fair point, they did make a mistake on the rumba in Zagreb

As at least half of the competition for the top 10 is going to come from North American teams, their high score of teams going to Euros isn't particularly compelling evidence for me. Especially since that high score is from a very early season B competition where I believe none or almost none of the likely top 10 teams competed.

Frankly I'd be more likely to bet on my chance for winning the next Powerball drawing than them making the top 10.

As most of the competition for the top 10 is going to come from North American teams, their standings at Euros isn't, for me, compelling evidence. YMMV of course.

I was talking about Euros, they would come nowhere near top 10 in Worlds

Ah ok. Fair enough. I misunderstood you. Top 10 at Euros is feasible.

Yep, if you notice my list had no North American teams in it ...

I reckon they'd be fighting the Danish for 7th or 8th, but the Danish should win, as I love their programs this season
Or maybe 9th if you include H/K in the picture, but not sure how they will slot in as Zagreb was so corrupt a competition you cannot take the results seriously

Definitely. It is not as if they had to compete at Europeans against three Canadian couples and three US couples. At Europeans there will be one decent French couple, two Italian couples and two Russian couples. All the rest are beatable.

2 Italians and 3 Russian teams.

Why would S/K be sent ?

Yes, I forgot a few decent couples. I corrected it.
Why would S/K be sent? I don’t think they will be healthy if there is something wrong with his ankle, but I do think Zhulin has probably more power than Kustarova.

OK, let's stay down-to-earth.
Sending SK would be no crime. They did very well during gp circuit, like 2 points worse than SB overall. They have 2nd highest SD score among Russian pairs and they didn't get it in Russia. They medalled at one GP event. It's not like ZG are constantly scoring 190+ but RusFed hates them and plans to send some random second-tiers.
But yeah, as I said, sending ZG will be totally understandable and totally fair. They really deserve it.

Kinda off-topic, but I really like Evdomikova/Bazin now. I wasn't that impressed with their V/M-copy FD last year, but this year, they look like they've improved by leaps and bounds.

I agree that sending SK would make sense.
It is the 3rd team, so they can afford to gamble on Nikita.
Though if he is sent it is sending a very bad message, that he can do what he likes and still be rewarded with being major championships.
(I am in the camp that he was fine before the failed lift, but calculated that the loss of points on the lift would take him out of medal contention, so he just gave up)

It would also be very unfair on Z/G, they won the 3rd spot fair and square.
That must have been quite unsettling to have to skate directly after the Nikita drama, especially as they were called onto the ice quite a few minutes earlier than they would have expected.

This is the 4th season for S/K, yet the results are worse than 2015, when they had a silver and a bronze in the GPs and a 4th place in Euros.
If they are sent to Euros, there is no way they will be as high as 4th.

He wasn't fine before the lift...you could see in the warm up that something were wrong with Nikita and he was in pain. Even Elena I. was saying that.
Btw...Nikita has an ruptured ankle ligament...it will take 2-12 weeks time to heal.
So you can cool down....S/K won't send to Euros! I feel sorry for them!

Merry Christmas to you all!!

Yes, I agree Nikita looked to be having problems in the warm-up, but in the FD if you watch, he was skating perfectly fine until the lift. In fact it was the best they have ever skated the FD up to that point.

Don't get me wrong, I would prefer to see S/K at Euros than a 2nd tier team like Z/G, I just question how long everyone will put up with Nikita's antics
