I just woke up and I'm devastated to see Adam messed up, there's something special about him and I wished he'd win silver.
I think they'll still go with Adam for the Olympic team - it's not like he's in a bad shape. This was like a fluke messy performance and he has plenty of receipts that he can do way better than that.
But boy did this competition bring the drama or what! God I love figure skating

I don't see much of an issue in removing 2nd instead of 3rd. Nothing in the rules guarantees anything to either of them and either way you're going to be making big waves by not just going with the podium result, so you might as well make the best decision possible. I think it would be fine as well, though, if they do as some are suggesting and send Ross to the Olympics but not Worlds. The Olympics are more about honor and glory, but Worlds results hold so much sway over the next season and all performances are important, not just the medallists, so there's a stronger argument to send the most competitive team there.

I hope that this time USFSA will not ignore Zhou´s achievement while selecting the Olympic team like they did last year for Worlds. There was lots of noise about Nagasu and Wagner in 2014 Olympics selection, this could as well be seen as racism, IMO.
Miner had an awesome freeskate, I really loved it!!! In spite of that I think that perhaps Rippon should be selected for the Olympic team and Miner for the Worlds?
I liked Chen´s costume, it really suited him and felt very glad for his win although it was no surprise, LOL...
Maybe Brown could benefit from a more experienced team? It was madness to include the quad as he even cannot rotate his triple axels fully (if judged properly). Would have been a much better idea to really train the rotations of all his jumps, I think. He had a horribly hard fall in the quad attempt that must have affected the rest of his jumping a lot.
Nobody expected Miner to skate like that and that would include Rippon and Brown as well, I´d guess.

Thanks for the Doug Ladret mention/update Mrs. P. Funny, I was thinking about how much I enjoyed his skating with Christine Hough a few days ago while re-watching "The Cutting Edge" film they appeared in.

I can't imagine what Ross is thinking. He is probably so thrilled with his skate and may be overwhelmed at the thought of having to do it again on the Olympic stage...

I hear Adam Rippon is Furious × 10.
But jokes aside, I can't believe how Rippon managed to fudge this up. Also, I really hope Rippon goes to Olympics while Zhou goes to Worlds. Following this season of his, I really don't see Zhou going clean at Olympics.

Finally watched the videos and of the last group Ross did have the skate of the night for me. It helps that I love this song too.
I feel like Vincent needs to work hard on rotating his quads before he considers placing so many in a program, but I actually quite enjoyed his FS this time. Since he had less visible mistakes outside of the UR landings, I could concentrate more on how he was really feeling his program and interpreting it well. Good job, kiddo.
Contrasting that to Nathan, who, despite going the cleanest in this FS since US Classic, seemed a lot more subdued in interpretation this time around (and as some have pointed out, late on the step sequence, which is actually my favorite bit in this program). I'm happy he managed to land all his non axel jumps, though, but I kinda miss the promise the FS had originally. Unfortunately, given all the commentators are always going about how they expect the hardest difficulty from Nathan and this was a basic watered down layout, the pressure to meet all those expectations will continue to interfere with the potential of the program.
I still love your SP, though, Nathan!

So apparently Jimmy Ma's SP Turn Down For What has gone viral and the internet-public are expecting it to be at the Olympics. Wow, USFSA could really capitalize on this (I say mostly in jest but really, who knows?!).

If Rippon was 3rd would they bump a 2nd place Miner for a 4th place Zhou? Because that's exactly what skipping over Zhou and bumping Miner for Rippon would be.
The more I see it, the more I don't see how the team isn't Nathan, Vincent, Adam. Based on every single competition including this one, GPs, senior B's, even Nats from last year (all of them are taken into consideration).
The big "issue" for USFS : Ross is 2nd and not 3rd. And let's face the reality : why are US nats judges giving those PCS, where some of them won't even dream to reach internationnally ?

How would this work, do you get 1 point for each box you check or are they weighted by tiers?
Ironically it shakes out this way...
Brown t1-2, t2-1, t3-2 for 5 total
Zhou t1-1, t2-0, t3-3 for 4 total
Rippon t1-1, t2-1, t3-1 for 3 total
Miner t1-1, t2-0, t3-0 for 1 total
Now if the tiers are weighted differently...
Sending someone who is 6th at his nationals is not going to do it anyway, people will riot. I don't know if it's weighed differently, how i can be though...

Then the iguana, voodoo dress of Madi Chock will earn them a win, Zach & Madi H will melt the ice resulting in another team falling (what is the draw order?), or the Shibs will be unable to stop twizzling and will take off like helicopters on their way upwards to wherever there free dance is describing...
