Feeling for Ivett. I just don't understand why so many people choose Carmen though, I'll never believe someone actually loves skating to that.

Exactly my thought. Skaters should picture music they like. Not have someone else pick it for them.

I don't know, I love Habanera, for the right skater. Gabby Daleman does it well. I've done a couple Habanera programs in my day, too I prefer it to anything Don Quixote-related...

ETA that obviously for Ivett, it's not the right music. Compared to how much fun she has with her short program to AC/DC, there's no question.

I'm curious if the 1Lo was called under for Toth. It's mostly a pet-peeve of mine since I think called the half loop for rotation is stupid since it's not a jump really, you are just trying to get on the right edge.

I like her Thunderstruck more, it’s fierce and really sets her apart. I don’t know if skating to something iconic is always the best choice if your not a top tier skater, your going to end up in more of a side by side comparison with everyone else doing it which may end up working against you, but something like Thunderstruck, love it or hate it there is very little to compare it to and it makes her very memorable! Too bad this wasn’t her best, she looked so disappointed at the end.

Not a fan of Dasa's first half, but she came on strong when 'Human' starts. A shame about the pop hwell:

For some strange reason I really like that 1st song to which Dasa Grm skated, but the most I liked how she skated to the last piece of music.

Again, not perfect, but skate Dasa Grm, owner of the coolest name in figure skating! The lack of warhorse post Carmen was pleasant touch too.

It's obvious she's skating because she wants to, not as a chore. She's someone who openly thought about if she wanted to continue, isn't she? For some reason, I seem to recall she debated if skating is what she most wanted right now and decided yes.

Even though I didn't expect a high score, I still feel bad for skaters when you tell they weren't satisfied with what they did on the day. I don't think Dasa was. In fact, almost no one in this opening flight was.
