This is why Olympic champions should just stay away from Worlds after they win the Olympics. Even Yuna didn't look right in 2010 and you would think that the pressure would have been off after winning Gold in Vancouver but she looked shaky and more nervous then normal.

Satoko is lifted just as much as Carolina. Satoko has two world medals given to her by Shin Amano.

At least in Satoko's case, she isn't propped up to medal standing with a 50-53 TES, in an incredulous fashion. Say what one may about Satoko, but at least she makes her case, and her standings normally are not preposterous.

Such a crazy event. Never would I have imagined Alina falling 3x. I hope she can take this as a learning experience. She still has the OGM, and sometimes things fly to pieces and you get back up and move on.

It's been a pretty underwhelming and messy competition overall so far, with the exception of Savchenko/Massot. I'm all the more impressed with them after this today.

This might be a good thing her bombing Worlds like this. Means she will have some fire next season to compete and come back and try to win Worlds again. I don't think she was going to pull a Adelina and fly off in the sunset anyways but this will make her more determined then ever.

My heart is so broken for Alina. I nearly cried watching her face. I hope she can channel this into motivation and become World Champion next year.

Gosh, Alina throwing her arm around Eteri and sobbing absolutely broke me. Poor thing.

At least Eteri didn't abandon her in the K&C like she does to her other bombing skaters. I guess winning the Olympic Gold got Alina some brownie points.

She should have had medals like this before, if not for the out of control inflation of PCS scores to accomodate certain skaters. They wanted to do it today but they couldn't. Justice finally prevails.

WOW - ALL this praise for Bradie placing 4th in the free and 6th over all ( with some iffy calls I would add!), and people going on about look out for her next season... Yeah yeah yeah - I seem to remember the same type of comments about Karen when she placed 4th last year! And what has she done since!
