I know! Javi wants to coach. This is a perfect chance for him to learn how to coach while speaking his native language. This is priceless for both of them. Not Spain and Mexico are not the same, but Donovan and Javi could communicate better than with 90+% of the figure skating world. I think Donovan's current coach should be kept in the picture, for what he has done for Donovan, and as a choreographer, and so he can take back his knowledge to Mexico, but I would love to see Donovan with Javi. It is so perfect how has it not happened!

Surely the finances are one of the main reasons. Donovan’s coach coaches him for free because he knows how talented he is, and Donovan himself teaches at public rinks t get his costumes and stuff. He recently got a few sponsors so I hope that gets him on the way. Donovan has said he still wants to live in Mexico but I have always thought that he could at least attend Javi’s summer camps.

I wonder how long Javi wanted to live in Spain...

Donovan's coach is smart to not charge him... other coaches are smart too, Donovan is worth a similar relationship with other skaters.

Maybe Donovan could train with Javi if Javi came and taught some classes in Mexico :agree:
