2019 World Championships Ladies Free Skate

Loena 13th after the SP. I was really hoping for her to place as high as 10th here, but I think a top 15 finish is still respectable all things considered :2thumbs:

Loena Hendrickx (BEL)

Tech:

- Great 3Lz(rip)+3T, very strong!
- Good turns into the 3F, clean
- Okay 2A, not a lot of speed but fine
- Ouch, heavy fall on the second 3Lz(rip) attempt
- Nice spin positions, great speed too (Lvl 4)
- Good timing and flourishes through the step sequence, good energy too (Lvl 3)
- Decent 3F+2T+2Lo
- Tough landing on 2A+2Lo
- Better 3S
- Great speed of rotation and wonderful stretch on layback spin (Lvl 4)
- Good spread eagle, quick spiral in choreo
- Nice combo spin to finish the program, clean and neat

Pres:

- Always impressed with Loena. Hard fall on second 3Lz, but she has a good feel for dance choreography and has fantastic spins. She does take the time to accent the choreography and stretch it out, and she goes for the rippon jumps and mainly succeeds. Not the same performance she wanted as last year's Worlds where she was cleaner, but still a commendable skate.

FS Score: 123.69, TES 66.07, PCS 58.62, -1 Deduction
Total Score: 186.29 (currently 1st)

Loreena was caressing her face so much I thought I was watching an infomercial for a skin moisturizer.

But it is good to have her back. What happened to her brother? Has he officially retired?

That was a good effort from Loena,
considering she was injured not so long ago.

Also I love her FS music!

A fall, but otherwise strong skate - she seems happy

She recovered, despite the fall she remained in character, she showed she is a professional and her skate was very enjoyable.

Can't believe that Loena is still only 19. Her and Jorik have been around for so long that I thought they were both into their twenties.

That said, I also thought Jorik was younger than he is. So, I was putting him at around 24 and her at around 21.

SBS man was wondering the same thing!

Not a bad score into the lead and she's very pleased!

I'm very happy for Loena! Finally able to perform, even if not at her best! After so many physical problems this season this was a great performance. And even underscored in PCS for me

Ekaterina Ryabova (AZE)

Tech:

- Nice 3Lz(rip)+3T combo
- Alright 3Lo(rip) attempt, maybe <
- A bit bent in the combo spin but good stretch
- Fine 3S
- Mainly content-based footwork (Lvl 4)
- Okay 2A+3T+2T, 3T looks <
- Slow into the second 2A
- Good 3Lz(rip)+2T (maybe !)
- Good 3F(rip) as well
- Nice speed and cathfoot position in combo spin
- Okay spirals through the choreo, not a lot of impact
- Steady layback spin to end the program

Pres:

- A pretty good technical performance today. Not much artistry to speak of except for some simple hand posing, but strong rippon attempts and no pops. Good for her! She did the best she was capable of.

FS Score: 122.70, TES 69.92, PCS 53.08
Final Score: 179.88 (currently 1st) :yahoo:

Whoa. Oversleep and you miss something really good! I'm going to have to keep an eye on Katya!
