Wish C/L had gone clean but this is still a step forward for them. Despite the mistake they really committed until the end and their overall skating has improved. It's going to be hard to get those 2 spots with everyone going clean though.

I think it will be relatively easy for Cain/LeDuc to make top 10, it's not a deep field and based on that score, the judges look to be helping them out. The twist was caught low, the throw was low, she had a hard fall, and I've seen them do the step sequence better than that, yet it was nearly a Season's Best.

Boikova / Kozlovskii (RUS)

Tech: Solid sbs 3S, safe and secure 3Twist, very good flow out from throw 3S, a bit out of sync on the spins but good rotational speed, a little slow on the rotation of the lift but clean and strong positions, solid rotation on the death spiral (Basic), good intricacy through the steps that could be more in time with the music (Level 2)

Pres: Quite strong through the elements but lost a few levels here and there, pretty good in matching the spirited version of Dark Eyes, could have better phrasing and more connection between them. Still a solid team on the rise, lots of potential.

Score: TES 36.95, PCS 33.04, PCS 69.99 (currently 4th)

Nice skate considering all but I don't think the Americans should be so close. I feel bad for Austrians and Germans and second Canadians and N Koreans. I think Cain and Leduc are benefitting from skate so late.

they may have hoped for more but even if they skated clean they should have been no higher than where they are. They easily could be behind four teams right now who are behind them for some reason. It seems like the judges really like them. Crown them top ten after free skate.

I am happy for the US but really I think they should be behind the N Koreans. Someone really likes C/L or wants USA to have two teams.

Um, no.

Skating first in the first group didn't help the N Koreans, but the second half of their program looked a little ragged to me. It's missing the spark it used to have and that's seen in the PCS. Plus, C/L had some high BV items (like the throw 3Z) that got some decent GOE. Koreans missed levels on the spiral and just left TES points on the table in general.

I still can’t with Z/E’s costume, but I want them to do well. However, I’ll cross my fingers for T/M. They so deserve a boost!
