Just because she’s on the junior team, it doesn’t mean she can’t get challengers. For example, Sofia Samodurova and Daria Panenkova were on the junior team in the 2018/19 season but received 2 Grand Prix assignments and challengers. It’s more about funding.

Yes, I thought so too. Thanks. Well, I am glad that Shulskaya is in the mix. Here is a reminder of how she did at Russian Cup Stage 5 where she was clean in both short and long programs and scored 194.80.

I really really like this girl. She telegraphs her jumps though, and has a lot of PCS work to do, but she is very musical and is always on the music. And technically she seems very stable.

Must you mean Sofya Muravyova, who did an internship at TT at the end of last season? Now she has joined the Plushenko team.

Thanks! But is it true that there was (or had been) a new girl going to Eteri that was very talented? Or am I imagining things?

It seems like there's always some new girl going to Eteri or rumored to be going to Eteri so I don't blame you  But off the top of my head I can't think of any new girl gong to Eteri that we've heard of recently.

Oh, that’s great comp

Would've been even greater if Adelia had been born just 2 weeks earlier, could've been the 6th in the main team :)

Now we'll have to wait and see if the RusFed/MinSport slowpokes select the 6th member or leave it at 5.

Is Samodelkina the girl who recently moved to Eteri/is she eligible for 2022?

That was Muravyova, and neither are eligible for 2022. Nobody who wasn't age eligible for JGP 2019/20 won't go to Beijing. Sofia Samodelkina is still with Davydov

Also, Sofia Muravyova is listed as under Sergei Davydov. I thought she went to Eteri, then went to Plushy's, and apparently that was a rumor and she's back at Eteri's, and now she's listed under Davydov?

This girl has been to the 3 most dramatic Moscow coaches in a year if that's all true!

According to this document she switched to Plyushchenko

And the other document about the national team members contains outdated info, for instance no mention of Rozanov at all

I’m trying to remember who Adelia is. I think she’s the teeny tiny girl who skated to Edith Piaf at junior nationals in January? She looks like she LOVES skating. She was wearing pink, I think. She was my favorite at this past nationals, so if it’s true she won’t be on the jgp this season, I’ll be so sad!

I like her too, I think she was atrociously underscored at nationals. In the short she got 28 pcs while Tuktik and Sasha got 34? I'm just surprised that they let a 16 year od with no prior international experince on the junior team, because usually they don't give junior assignments or gils over 16/17

Apart from what Ted says (Charming, cute, special :) ), she is genuine and smart obviously :luv17:

I've been a big fan of hers for quite a while, really love reading her stuff on instagram even though I don't understand most of it. Seems like the most genuinely pleasant person imaginable. Loved when she told the story of how she became a coach for team Tutberidze, also.

anyone know why Diana Davis switched to ice dance? i found this video today from back when she did singles, she wasn't half bad. looks like she had all her triples but no 3+3 combo. i also had no idea she had a hearing disability which affected development of coordination. she made really respectable progress!

I'm not exactly sure why she switched but I'm really glad she did. She & Gleb have become one of my favorite junior dance teams and they've made so much progress in just their second international season! I can't wait to watch them continue to grow.

Apparently, Eteri thought singles would be too dangerous with her disability and wanted her to switch to ice dance.

Davis studied in a group with Tutberidze as a single skater. At some point, the athlete’s progress slowed down - there was not enough coordination. Mother decided not to risk the health of the young figure skater and insisted on her transition to ice dancing.
“The transition of Diana from single skating to ice dancing is my decision. Diana didn’t want to. She knows everything as a single skater, she knows all the jumps. But people with her diagnosis have a different coordination,
It’s more difficult for them. Any fall can result in serious injury, and I can never forgive myself for this, ”
This was confirmed by Diana herself. To questions on social networks, the girl noted that she was not afraid of injuries, but “the coaches were categorically against performing in single skating.”

"Indeed, initially I did not really like ice dancing, because I wanted to jump and got used to train with my mother (Eteri Tutberidze). But it turns out she was right. I want to progress, grow in ice dancing. Now I would not want to skate in singles," - said, laughing, Davis.

Does anybody know what exactly that 'diagnosis' refers to?
Is she on the spectrum of deafness? If so, any figure skating discipline is hard since she can't perceive the music like you normally would. Or is it more a brain- equilibrium problem? In any case very curious that she would be in figure skating at all.

If I was her dance partner I'd be freaking scared to drop her :p it reminds me of that video of Putin's daughter who is a kind of circus performer(?) doing stunts with a guy and the common consensus was: everytime that guy throws her into the air, he's playing with his life
