Since you ask, for me it was the battle between Brian Joubert's Matrix program and Evgeni Plushenko's Tribute to Nijinsky at European's 2004. Alas, both of them are not Russian ladies!

What an epic time to start being a figure skating fan :D

This needs to be here just to balance all the negative :poop::

Probably not, but to be honest who doesn't want to see the Russian Figure Skating Fed getting told off? They've done some inexplicable things over the years...it's probably a bit personal...the Fed threw Plushy under the bus after Vancouver and I'm pretty sure the result was that he's the only figure skater I know of who was suspended not for doping, or breaking the law, but for skating in a show.

I wouldn’t exactly say the Fed threw him under the bus in Vancouver - he didn’t do himself any favours when he said he doesn’t have any transitions or left out the third jump in his combo or had wild jumps in his free skate. His only defence was that it’s not men’s skating without a quad when the reality was he’s in a system where quality is rewarded and Lysacek capitalized. He needs to own up to his shortcomings as reasons he lost in Vancouver and so do his fans.

Again, Plushenko made the decision to skate in the show. He can blame the fed about Vancouver but somewhere he was told about skating in shows was prohibited and he did it anyways. Maybe he even thought he was above the rules because of who he is and could get away with it, who knows.

Plushenko is an amazing skater but the sense of entitlement is strong with him and we are seeing it now with his own skaters.

No I meant after, he always planned not to go to Worlds, he had to have surgery and was going to do a show, the Russian Fed knew this then the ISU was like "Hey, Plushenko should be at World's" and the Fed was all " Oh yeah of course."

And Plushy obviously said he couldn't go because he was in no shape to do quads and there was the sold-out show to do and the Fed was like "What are you talking about, we never heard about this. Get to Worlds"

So basically they either wanted Plushy to go to Worlds try and jump quads and really hurt himself, or not jump quads and look like an idiot.

It was a low act.

It was similar to Medvedeva's situation after OG 2018. Plushy could skate without 3As and quads on shows but he couldn't skate on competition without these jumps. He had meniscus problem and he showed the medical papers. He was punished but Med didn't. what is good because the FED had already realized the mistake of their previous decision. Plushy came back and won the ECH 2012.

Sadly, I couldn‘t find a video of Nugumanova, if anyone has one and would like to share, I‘d be grateful! Also, it will be interesting to find out whether as excellent a spinner as Elizaveta got any spin bonuses. ;)
Here is Nugumanova's skate from the short. She got a bonus for the last spin.

Hey guys, the girls are being interviewed on the livestream right now. What questions are being asked? What are the girls saying about the competition?

She is dressed and styled as a 30 years old, skates to old fashioned music. They did the same to Panenkova and I don't know why.
I don't think that's the issue, really. Usacheva was quite dull even before she was with Eteri. Her movements just don't have the conviction required, it feels like she executes but without heart or putting her everything into it. Everything she does feels pretty half-assed and like she doesn't really care about it.

Does anyone have a link of retransmission of the event that works, the broadcast of channel tv1 is currently a disgrace, more than 30 minutes with continuous intermittent.

This Saturday is the 4th stage right? Who’ll we see at that one? I can’t find a list. I’m so excited for Sinitsina and to see if Medvedeva competes and all the other storylines.
