How sick do you have to be to be eagerly wanting to see a teenage girl faint from exhaustion/ hunger or to see one purging?
Obviously the whole point of the post was missed. That's sad. Clearly, all of this (fainting, purging, worries of water weight) is ALREADY happening, and the point was that Eteri fans will continue to support her unless irrefutable proof of eteri's methods is brought forth, say, on camera, or someone of important speaking about it.

Thank you for such a detailed response. But's a pretty bleak picture you paint. Most people think if she doesn't make it back at TT Aliona is done. I don't feel that at all I think she needs to recover from her illnesses and injuries before she can stride again. Trying to do all of this on the fly is if you will is Russian Roulette.

And after the Olympics the professor will want Aliona if she's available. She's much better than Sofia and Nastia. Liza will probably be checking out after the next Olympic cycle.
It is a pretty bleak picture at this point in time. The question isn't can she make it back at all, it's can she make it back in time. Knowing that even her peak last year might not be enough.

After the Olympics, sure. But I don't think that's what Aliona is aiming for, at all. And we don't know if her body will allow her to continue much beyond that. And yes, she's better than Sofia and Nastia, but they're healthy. And really her senior international record, as it stands, is about the same as Sofa S, with one exception - a GPF win (and Sofia has been to the GPF). And Liza T may chose to stay on and same with the others.

I'm confused about what this means. Why would a Russian ballet choreographer care about Figure Skating?
*Someone of importance and great talent in choreography, has to call out daniil on the bs routines he gives his students.
*There may be some Russian ballet choreographers who are into other artforms.

*And must be Russian, or else it can just be said, "You only think daniil's choreography is bad because you hate Russia!"

The only way this madness will EVER end is if a bunch of things happen at once. Like, if a few skaters literally faint from exhaustion and hunger during a competition and the camera catches them worried about water weight.Or if a renowned Russian ballet choreographer criticises Daniil. Or if the girls are caught purging. Or if the judges are caught on camera discussing how to ensure a Sambo 70 win.
If only one of these happens it's not enough to take down the system. A lot has to happen at the same time, with evidence.
And I thought your post was not serious, looked like a joke to me. But ok, i guess, keep waiting

You need to read what else I have written in the thread on this topic after that post.

The simple point is that no dance choreographer is going to hold it to the standard of dance.

In fact, we've seen a ballet dancer *praise* Valieva's Bolero. I hardly think it's because she doesn't know ballet.

To me most FS choreography is moot. There have been shining exceptions, like "Girl on a Ball" and "Chopin Balade".

My reason for thinking Eteri is being forgiving/generous in taking Kostornaia back - Kostornaia left very late last year after Eteri and her team spent time and effort to create programs for her and it was a bad split with insults towards the Eteri team and less than a year later Kostornaia is asking to come back and going to need a lot more work from Eteri to get her back to being ready to compete for the Olympic team.

I find it a bit disturbing and its completely opposite of Eteri's history, this implication that Eteri is somehow taking Kostornaia back out of some desire to hold her back and prevent her from being a viable threat to the Olympic team. Based off the conditions of return that was brought up in that interview, that she would need that triple axel back and no missing practices, it doesn't sound like a coach that is looking to hold back a skater. Nothing in Eteri's history that suggests that she would sacrifice 1 skater for another - 2018, Medvedeva was largely talked about as being a second daughter to Eteri and Eteri didn't hold back Zagitova to make any easier road for Medvedeva to be able to win, additionally Shcherbakova has been with her forever and Eteri is clearly not holding back Valieva to help Shcherbakova out.

Anybody have any proof of the rumors that they are related, from what was said earlier in the week this rumor originated on a Trusova fan page. Its about like Konstantinova that whenever she got selected for anything this rumor that she had a Fed or Russian govt. connection was brought up to explain away her selection - never did see anybody offer any type of proof about it.
Eteri would not want alyona with a professor in an Olympic season where he could get 2 of the 3 Olympic spots.

Yes it's good she bought AK back to TT. I hope it works out but it's gonna be a long haul for Aliona.

Yes I was disappointed with how she left TT last summer too.

Not sure who the Uncle is or what it means. Obviously the skaters results and beautiful skating speaks for themselves. Now she needs to get healthy and form back. If she does it's going to be a very interesting Olympic season.

Well figure skating choreography for the most part to me is difficult to judge the artistry, especially Eteri group's programs, because they aren't designing programs for the audience to enjoy or some artistic show, but to rack up the most points possible. Last night I was rewatching some old programs and Scott Hamilton made a remark about Candeloro's D'Artagnan program and him being such an entertainer that Candeloro was 1 of the few skaters in Olympic competitive skating to put the audience first.

It's crazy to think her almost perfect season last season might not be enough for Aliona to just make the Olympic team let alone get on the podium.

Hey since Aliona is back training at TT does that mean she paid Yana? ;)

Probationary isn't always criminal. Sometimes you have probational periods for academics and stuff.

Think of it as a conditional acceptance. :) It could also be good for Aliona too. It might give her a realistic idea of what to expect but she's also free to leave at the end of the season too. And if she's proven herself to Eteri she'll also have proven it to herself. And that confidence will be invaluable going into the Olympic year. She'll need it.
Much better vocabulary..

Sadly, this is a way bigger problem and it does not stop with stopping Eteri. Look at Gracie Gold...Eteri had nothing to do with that.

How true, Amei. That new program choreographed for Aliona by...sorry, can't spell that name, was rather bad. But folks praised it nonetheless. There is lot of hypocrisy in the field.
Well whether or not someone likes a program is subjective. I know a lot of people love Zhenya's 9/11 but I rather dislike it. Same with, say, Kamila's Bolero. Some love it, I dislike it. Or Sasha's Fifth Element, I loved it, I know lots of people hated it.

But I mean, hasn't some evidence been brought forth? Alina's interviews about not drinking water or her saying that so long as she doesn't eat much she can avoid puberty? Eteri saying Yulia was on a diet of powered nutrients (and also the fact that Yulia had anorexia and had to get treated at a hospital after retirement)? Evgenia has also said that back with Eteri she used to spend days without eating. Obviously no one has come out with like allegations, and I honestly doubt anyone will since eating disorders are sadly common in this sport. It's not just an Eteri problem, it's a widespread issue for just about every female athlete. Gracie Gold and Gabby Daleman aren't Russians under Eteri but they struggle with eating disorders as well.

AND just because it's a commonality doesn't mean eating disorders are okay and just a part of skating. Eating disorders are NOT GOOD, and the ISU and coaches should work to find a technique that doesn't put so much pressure on skaters remaining extremely skinny.

I can't agree with this statement. My impression so far is that if they weren't interested into what their students are presenting to the audience, they wouldn't bother to constantly change little details in the programs and also pay attention to beautiful extensions, facial expression and so on... Those features might not be what every spectator is looking for, but this is again just a question of personal taste.

That's just it. FS choreography can't be measured in points. Subjective yes, but also influenced by politics.
Take 10 people. 9 of 10 are actors, while 1 is true blue. When 9 start pointing to a white ball and call it black, chances are the 10th would start calling it black too. Plush paid lot of money for the Shae-Lynn Bourne piece. I wouldn't pay a penny, because it is just bad.

Because that was last season. And even before this season and Kamila's debut it was apparent that one or all of the 3A would not make it. Even just looking historically.

It means someone did. Not Eteri. Probably Aliona's family or someone for them. (Or some arrangement was worked out.)

Mr. Tsiskaridze is not a choreographer. He is, or rather was, an outstanding dancer and a scholar of classical ballet. He staged, or rather, restaged few pieces of great masters of the past for students at the Ballet Academy. That doesn't make him" a great talent in choreography" 🙄

And I assume that you have some insider knowledge of these methods?

Anyway, fainting, throwing up etc. can happen in extreme training conditions, which top sports tend to be. Weight control I've already mentioned - controlling one's weight isn't an eating disorder. Look into weight class sports and their methods. Even extreme dieting doesn't automatically give one an eating disorder.
