I think it's such a shame that so many teams are held back or even broken up because of their jumps. OF coures this is a sport and this si reality, but the ones who come to pairs skating are usually the ones who rely a lot on their partner for their elements, so when they don't have a partner helping them, it becomes a struggle. We've already seen Borisova/Sopot broken up in part due to jumping, and so many other great teams held back due to it. Vislobokova/Briukhanov actually had really good pair elements, including an insane quad twist, but STanislava could not jump well. And then there are my favorites, Kostiukovich/Briukhanov and Panfilova/Rylov of course
It seems that the upcoming generation of young pairs do not have great jumps. With the exception of Mukhametzianova/Mironov, who I believe can get their jumps back after her puberty, the others always make you hold your breath and can rarely produce two clean triples in competition. Akhanteva has a scratchy 3S and inconsistent 3T, Kostiukovich lost all her toe jumps and is inconsistent with 3S, Panfilova cannot do 3S, or has not shown it to be consistent, Mukhortova is good, so is Artemeva but I don't know if her jumps (or throws) will last through puberty. Alas I guess nothing lasts forever - after Mishina, Boikova, Pavliuchenko, and Kadyrova, there had to be a break of good jumpers. In fact in the current crop of seniors, it seems to be the boys that aren't the best jumpers (Kozlovskii and Galliamov have weird 3T, Rylov can barely manage triples, Volodin is inconsistent....)
