turandot is not that groundbreaking but everyone want to play it safe in an olympic year, especially if it's also a come back year.

I love the classics and I'm not very concerned about whether a choice is groundbreaking. I do think it's unusual to choose two classics and she'll stand out for that reason.

Olga Mikutina (Austria):
FS: Primavera/Experience by Ludovico Einaudi (choreo. by Rostislav Sinitsyn) - same as 2020-2021 FS

Julia Lang (Hungary):
FS: Kincsem by Robert Hrutka (choreo. by Patricia Pavuk) - same as 2020-2021 FS

(At this rate, I think Ludovico Einaudi should just follow skaters around and perform live as they skate  )

Ehh, I'm a little disappointed by that - the song is beautiful but I'm a bit concerned that the combination is going to be a bland and underwhelming FS. She does better with interpreting the more dramatic music.
The song would be better as a SP. The song is made of 2 parts and the second part is just a repetition of the first part. The piano is very repetitive and minimalist kind of music. I cannot see it helping the dull bland persona she gives off. But I'm glad someone is going to try interpreting this because it is my favourite piece from the composer.

Piano Concerto #2? If so, they already did it........in the Olympic season.........it did not end well :slink:
Really? I must have missed that (late comer to ice dance). Hopefully, they'll do a different Rach piece then, which would be interesting.

Do people use different Rach pieces,I swear I've only heard #2.

Probably lots of oriental program seeking attention from the olympics audience in China. Some tacky culturally appropriation costume and memoirs of a geisha programs even though thats japanese.
Well the music from The Last Emperor is gorgeous and hasn't been Done To Death.

What’s tacky is your using the term ‘oriental’ regarding Chinese people, cultural appropriation, and Japanese geisha in the same breath and argument...careful, your ignorance is showing.

Anastasiia Smirnova/Daniil Sianytsia (USA):
SP: Dixie Biscuits by Tape Five (choreo. by Randy Strong)
FS: Je suis malade by Serge Lama, performed by Lara Fabian (choreo. by Trudy Oltmanns)

Paige Rydberg (USA):
SP: Fever by Celine Dion (choreo. by Ilona Melnichenko)
FS: Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace) by Hillsong Worship (choreo. by Ilona Melnichenko)

Kirsten Moore-Towers & Michael Marinaro (CAN)
FS: "Carry You" by Ruelle & Fleurie (choreo. by Julie Marcotte)

Repeat of their 2019/20 program. Per KMT, it felt like it had been left unfinished since they didn't perform it at Worlds.

Vincent Zhou (USA)
FS: "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" - repeat of 2018/19 program

"This program is one of my all-time favorites - so over the past few weeks, I’ve worked with Lori Nichol to reimagine the choreography and bring new life to the program."

I love this programme for them so I’m excited to see it again!

Yaroslav Paniot (USA)
FS: Elvis Medley (Choreography by Misha Ge) - repeat of 2020/21 program

Lori redoing Zhou Crouching tiger program? The same choregrapher who did Boyang's Crouching tiger program a few years back. Knowing Lori she has a habit of recycling choreography. I hope she will be original in doing his rework.

This is what Vincent had to say on On Ice Perspectives IG and You Tube Channel about what the program meant to him, which I appreciated and I think signals he will be involved with whatever Lori does:

This program, originally choreographed by Jeff Buttle, is one of my all-time favorites - so over the past few weeks, I’ve worked with Lori Nichol to reimagine the choreography and bring new life to the program. Returning to this free skate for the upcoming season is so important to me for many reasons. As a Chinese American, and the son of Chinese immigrants, skating this program says very clearly what I firmly believe: I am proud of my heritage, I am proud of my culture, and I am proud to be Asian-American. The prospect of skating this program at the 2022 Olympic games in Beijing would be a dream come true, and would make all of what I said even more meaningful to me. Finally, as we close Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage month, I’d like to say very clearly to our community: you are valued, you are important, and you are loved. I can’t wait to see you on the ice, - Vincent
