Rino! I'm so glad to see her back to her old form! This final group for the free skate is all I wanted. I'm happy to see everyone vying for the Olympic spots delivered today. Now, if only the men can be this good...

We have a very clear top 6 in the seventies, who all skated clean. What a great competition.

All the top ladies brought their A-game 2-6 is extremely tight (and honestly Kaori should be much closer to them) so it all comes down to who can also bring it in the free! This will be exciting (and heartbreaking…) to watch.

Rino. Wow! That is the Rino I remembered. The Japanese skater who lands all her jumps easily and puts all her combos at the end, is back. The top 6 all brought it today. This will make it a tough final group two days from now. I will be sad for the three that miss the cut. May the strongest female win.

The second last group is exciting too. 4 juniors versus Yamashita and Watanabe.

I'm so happy that Marin Honda make it to the FS, her skating skill, presentation and dress are so beautiful to watch. She is my favorite japanese skater and her jump seem to comeback. Good for her !

Will Mana and Rino be sent instead of girls actually competing as Junior this season?

It wouldn't surprise me if the team is Rion and maybe Mana, that way they can both get international experience without the pressure of an ISU championship. I'd send Mana, Rino, and the other top woman who doesn't go to the Olympics to 4CC.

Wakaba: Clean SP and the step sequence!!! Loved it.
Satoko: As always, she is lovely and I can watch her program forever.
Mai: Watching her being happy makes me happy, too.

Kaori: Perfect as always and the deserves the placement, but for some reason, I don't care much about her programs.

Mana: All her jumps were great, esp. 3A! but she needs to work more on in-betweens, IMHO.
Rino: Her SP was enjoyable.

And, Yuzu in a commercial for a generic pharmaceutical company.

Takeaways from this. Tech caller on vacation. Kaori overscored and Mana underscored as usual. Mai got generous GOE, Rino looked healthy, all the top girls skated well.

Kaori skated faster than most of the men

Did they show the speed for any of the other girls like they usually do? I only saw it for Kaori. Usually Wakaba is even faster than Kaori on it. Maybe because her SP is a slower paced song this year they didn't bother?
