I think this is unkind and unfair.
Bradie and Rika (and I REALLY adore them both) are battling injuries and have withdrawn from competitions. It's just unfortunate timing for all of them.

Why?
Unfortunately they need to start pulling these events from them if they cant organize them.
Not too sure what's going on, it seems like there have been several instances of this "will the Russians be able to attend" drama due to visa issues or something and almost always (someone said that a junior skater wasn't able to go to a JGP event due to a visa issue) its resolved. So I'm not overly concerned until official practices start and they aren't there.
In terms of Russian ladies: Valieva, Tuktamysheva and Kostornaia are scheduled to be there.

What about China are Russians going to have problems getting a Visa there for the Olympics?
I'm telling you Canadian fans want to see the the phenom the Empress and the most beautiful skater in the world at skate Canada. I hope there are no shenanigans going on.
Good job Sasha! Nowadays, quads and 3A are not needed to win competitions 
Ladies struggle enough with just performing clean triple programs, even in the short program. The struggle is even worse when they have to perform seven triples in the free skate. I knew that if she just skated cleanly, it would suffice. Mad that she was ahead of the brilliant Daria. But, I knew Sasha would get a high PCS score due to reputation. Now she can wait till the end to determine what kind of program she needs to skate for the free skate tomorrow. My prediction is she just needs triples. Maybe, go for one quad as the first jump like what Anna does if her Lutz Loop combo is consistent.
I’m happy with Kseniia’s skate. She should have scored higher. But, third place is the best I expected from her. Looking forward to her free skate.

China probably wouldn't dare to make visa a problem for Russian, but maybe for other countries for whatever reason. Also the restriction. They canceled many competitions. So I'm not surprised if anything happens.

Who designed the dresses for Juniors? I love the free skate costumes of Muravyeva and Samodelkina this season.

Look, scores are a mess (they always are), so I‘ll just say that both Daria and Sasha really impressed me today. This was the first time for both of them that I thought they really performed throughout their program. Daria used to be picture perfect in terms of executing her choreography but she also tended to have a nervous energy (in her early junior days) and a technically focused energy last season. Sasha used to be…well, Sasha. Today was different for both of them and I really enjoyed it.
Also a shout out to Ksenia for an absolutely beautiful program and an underscored step sequence. I guess it evened out with her not getting a call for that obviously UR combo, though.
Still a great start to the GP season from all of them. Hoping the FS goes similarly well (and fingers crossed for Sasha‘s foot).

Oh, Zhenya has always been and it seems she still is the queen of looks and grace. She always looked perfect to me! Unmatched!I'm thinking at this point that none of the dresses are the final versions for the Eteri group, and whoever makes the Olympics will get new dresses worthy of the event. At least... that's what I'll be telling myself right up to Europeans.
Medvedeva had 3 different FS dresses during her Olympic season if I remember correctly... the Leftovers dress, the black Anna Karenina (I *loved* this one!), and the final AK dress. Honestly all 3 of them were great, how can we not even have ONE good costume for 6 different girls this season but Zhenya can serve a whole runway collection by herself??
The visa issues for Canada ..you can’t come to Canada if you’re not vaccinated or don’t have an approved vaccine.It is different going to The United States.I saw on twitter some of the Russian skaters are not vaccinated but will get vaccinated if they make the Olympic team
Why would China be particularly afraid of Russian athletes visa? And as if these countries would just randomly cause visa problems for athletes just for fun. Its probably just poor management from the Russian fed since no other countries athletes are having Canada visa issues

I’m a little surprised to see Sasha over Daria by the two points, I was expecting them to be pretty even. On the other hand I’m super happy for Sasha because I think she stresses out a lot about her quads since lots of people (IMO wrongfully) consider her super weak in other realms. While it used to be true she lacked artistry, I think those criticisms are far less valid now and it’s good to see the judges scoring her properly in that realm finally.

Ksenia needs to go to a star coach to raise her PCS and her profile. It's absolutely ridiculous to see her PCS scores still this low. I've given up on my dream of seeing Eteri coach her. I think someone like Plushenko would make a great fit. I've seen his juniors this year and they look really good. Far better than last year's disaster.
then why China canceled almost all competitions except AO? And why Chinese skaters withdrew from GP without any explanation? It's almost like they don't care about the coming Olympic at all...
What Chinese skaters have WD from GP events? The only ones I was aware of was going to potentially be the host picks for what was formerly GP China but now is GP Italy, which is only fair the host picks should go to the host country.
P/J and W/H WD from IdF which is not station Italy. Not to mention those WD from AO. And no live steam for AO even rumor said they were working on that. Only very few video available after a couple of days. Just terrible
