Everyone is on vacation and grand prix assignments aren't out yet, not much to talk about. Although I do wonder if the national team affects assignments. Will Aliona still get two? Does being on the main team imply Maiia will get two? And of course, a lot of speculation on how the ladies will be spread out. With this many contenders, rusfed has no way of separating all their top contenders.

On the one hand, I know that we are in for the showdown of a lifetime, on the other, I know that there are going to be winners and losers, and the cookie will crumble one way or another.. I don't know how I will be able to handle it, because all these skaters are so amazing, and it will be crushing to see what happens. I am rooting for all of these girls....

I deeply relate to this feeling x) The wait is excruciating but I'm really terrified of the outcome. I will all the girls the best of luck, most importantly I hope none of them will get injured or anything. Having to wonder for the rest of your life if you would have made it or not if it wasn't for a badly-timed injury is the worst and I don't want that to happen to anyone...

Me too. I only wish that every skater maintains their health and skates 100%. No regrets, no would've/could'ves. And realistically, the only four in the running is 3A + V. That is the winning equation.

I wouldn’t be so sure if I were you.. what is realistic today might be totally implausible tomorrow.

Russian nationals is only a single competition. Maybe Maiia or Liza has the performance of a lifetime there. Or someone else could have a fluke disaster. Who knows?

I think that Russia still guarantees the national champion a spot on the Olympic team, even though they still use the “criteria”. The US, for example, doesn’t even guarantee the national champion an Olympic spot (though the National Champion has always gone)

Most of her current girls are novices, of the older girls Shabotova won ukrainian championship but was not eligible for worlds yet (15 this january) and Ksenia Sinitsina had her health problems. Do not know what happened with Kuzmenko, no competition since 2018/19 season.

Of course, it's the summer, but also, recently there's not really been jump clips and such that we'd usually be getting around this time of the year, so there's not so much to talk about.

Also, looks like Shcherbakova burned her face .-. Need to remember to sun screen it too
