2021-22 Russian Women's Figure Skating

All the others besides alena and Liza are still under 18 years old. So legally if up to the date of the Olympics vaccinating minors is still a no go in Russia then they don't really have a choice do they?Because as I heard right now there isn't a vaccine in Russia that's offically available for people under the age of 18, (again if i heardwrong correct me please) so they actuallyat this point do not even ahve a choice of getting vaccinated or not. Only alyona and liza have that choice at the moment ,

So the Rus gov is not allowing under 18 to have the vaccine or they're just not required? Even if they dont have one purposely for children, I'm sure if an althete needed one to attend the olympics, they would make allowance for them to get the adult one. I mean its not like they're giving preferential treatment like skipping quarantine for the privileged.

She also thinks the New York, New York SP is better than the Beth Hart SP--more choreography and better able to show Aliona's personality.

If it really was the infamous hated sp, then it explains why she is able to pick up the choreography easily because its not a brand new program.

Scary fall for Alena on that first 3A. Rest of the SP seems quite promising.

That 3A was actually fully rotated though, there's progress. And she landed a few afterwards.

We don't really know her feelings towards the New York New York program so there is hope she likes it and connects with the music well!

From what I read the first one . and please correct me if I am wrong here people (as I am not living in Russia, just that I heard and read that from people living in Russia after the Russian ladies Interwiev after skate America where they mentioned that they are not vaccinated.

To tell the truth I don't think anyone would be happy to find out that the team gave the song for a programm wanted to my teammate instead ,even if I was the one to propose that song for my programm. I would be angry too

It all makes sense! The infamous 2021 SP so no new choreo. Daniil truly kept the sparkly shiny programs for 2020-21 LOL. How is every single one better than the 2022 offerings?? (hyperbole) Also Aliona girl, get some better taste. This music is way better.

It's good that Aliona has changed her fs. It showcases her glide better. Vivaldi is not good for her, because the music changes rapidly and she is not good at turns or changing directions because her upper back and her shoulders are too stiff.

Googled "Kostornaia left Eteri", both of these articles are via Google translate and they have quotes from Kostornaia, and the second article does quote Kostornaia as saying:

Unrelated to Alionas skate, why is Liza getting such generous PCS that isn't equal with what's being shown on the ice? Not to mention her combo should have been called too.

Eteri looked very surprised by the score.
I was expecting Canada to score PCS at least more or less closer to reality, but the pcs judging was quite absurd as it was in Finlandia.

Whatever, this was a personal win for Aliona and step up for Aliona from 3 weeks ago. She was selling the program. The program will get better by the next competition and her PCS will hopefully rise back to where it is supposed to be.

RusFed seems to want Liza on the Olympic team judging by the scoring this season. Or they are at least giving her a chance instead of burying her right out of the gate. It would be great if Liza keeps it together and actually makes it.

I hate to explain it to you again guys but we all know that PCS is tied to reputation, Liza put a clean program with a 3A out there and she is currently world's nr 2. Her spins were better than usual, and she even got level 4 stqc.

Aliona got the q on the axel and level 2 on stqc. Until she puts a perfect program out there she will not get a perfect PCS.

Do I think that Liza deserved higher PCS than Aliona? No. And surely not on SS and TR.

Am I gonna be surprised for 26368 time and pretend that I don't understand how scoring actually works? No.

It is how it is, deal with it already.
