2021 Worlds: Ladies' Short Program

I had Anna at 78-79. Her PCS was too high. Should have been no more than 35 and change, given how others were scored.
She got a 35 LAST YEAR. People need to look at how Anna was scored internationally last year. Especially the ones who said she wasn't getting PCS internationally and her lutzs were going to be called. That was obviously NOT going to happen.

Scherbakova doesn't excite me. She does everything well, but she doesn't touch me emotionally. She's way too thin. Elegant but brittle. Part of the scoring for Eteri's girls is based on the tech rep, but something is always lacking.

I think Ye-Lim of South Korea was a bit low-balled, as was Kaori. I hope Bradie brings it in the fp. Giving Rika such leeway on those clear landed pivots on the ice makes me go 'Hmmm.' For example, I've seen the judges downgrade Bradie and Mirai before unfairly with UR calls. If Bradie and Karen bring it to their best level, the fp should be interesting.

I'm sorry for Satoko. She is such a beautiful skater.
Rika got called so there was no leeway!

Anna's the number 1 in her country and Sasha just messed up. Also remember Anna got a 35 LAST YEAR internationally as Russia's number 2. She was going to get a PCS jump as Russia's number 1 and as a second year senior.

That doesn‘t make it right lol.

Anyway, she definitely had the most musicality today, so her presentation and interpretation scores are absolutely spot on. Transitions, too. It‘s just the othet two that are significantly too high.

PCS here is an absolute mess: Trusova is somehow above Sakamoto, Kim and Lee have received measly points compared to what they showed today, the gap between Kihira and Shcherbakova is too big but that is one of the lesser sins...

Yelim did an huge amount of work to skate that well. I remember when 3 seasons back some people were saying she was the weakest of the trio with Young and Eunsoo. That wasn't necessarily false. That Riverdance for example wasn't great. She sure closed the gap. She should be 4th or even 3rd.

Lol, everybody knows that. You can still call out unfairness when you see it even if it was expected, btw.

I would never put you on ignore. You do a great job keeping us civil.
It was less about "please don't put me on ignore" but rather I didn't want them to waste their time trying to put me on ignore because it's not possible. Also I can't put anyone on ignore either.. which I'd be tempted to do.

So it sounds like Karen skated great but Bradie was a bit underwhelming. A clean skate would have put the US in real good shape to get the 3rd spot back but now both of them have to come out with guns blazing to stay where they are.

So is this scoring system becoming 100% just reputation not even looking at the ice?

If the edge is wrong, it should be called, if the edge is flat, you get the !. That's how it should work.

For the most part it works that way, but i do see double standards on the range of acceptable edges.

Worth noting last time judges actually called Anna's flutz, Russia immediately enraged threatening the judges (Cup of China)

As for this competition, the order is not that outrageous, but some of the points difference are questionable to say the least. The top 3 should have all been very close within a point of difference, and nothing more, it was that close, i don't see one being clearly better than the others.

Also Kaori was robbed in the PCS.
