There's a sense of cruel irony in how the same people (in social media comments, but also fed officials) who are always very strongly accentuating how sports and politics are to be separated are not able to do so when it comes to separating a very young skater from the actions and words of their coach.

tbh I didn't think the scoring at jr nationals was as bad as Plushenko claimed but they have done her dirty here
