2022-23 Japan National Championships - Women's FS

Not what she wanted obviously but she makes everything look so easy it's remarkable. I'm not surprised the GOE is holding her up so high.

Mao SHIMADA

Mao had a rough runthru in the morning and looked like she was going to throw up in most of the coverage. Her jumps are gorgeous, but I really love her spins. That last layback was timed to speed up with the music and it was just *chef's kiss*

FS: 132.51 (3rd)
TOT: 202.79 (1st)

That was a good strategy to keep 3A out in the SP. I think they should go for either 3A or 4T in the FS, that would be more ideal.

My stream froze right before Mao started, and it came back exactly at her 4T fall 😭

But wow that TES is still really high despite 2 falls. She might still get into the lead especially with her SP cushion

She needed to get on the podium to qualify for worlds this season. This is a competition.
If Mao podiums she can't go Worlds
If Ami podiums she can't go to Worlds
Mone can but she's not the most consistent
Saki is green (and has none of the qualifications so far) so they wouldn't have sent her even if she hadn't bombed

Had Mana skated clean her PCS would've likely kept her above Hana
but now what?

Strategy dude...strategy
You said it yourself, This is a competition
