2022-23 Russian Local Events – Discussion

Russian GP entries will be published after the Test Skates (according to Trankov's interview).
Honestly, everyone you can think of will have to be included unless they have an injury etc.

It looks like they've added an extra day to every stage. I don't get it. I mean... The last day of competition will be Monday. What's the point? I hope that's a mistake.

What’s more guys, the front page shows that the Calendar of the Competitions is for 2122, so, basically they have heard our complaints about stages not showing participants to the last moment and decided to be proactive. Russian skaters too young? Heck no, they are now competing among the unborn!

The Moscow Fed is a bit late with their competition calendar this season. If I understood the protocol of the last Fed meeting in late July correctly, Nina Mozer was appointed new head of the Moscow Fed and they wanted to give her the opportunity to review the calendar before publishing it.
However, on the online application page there is already one competition - the Moscow Junior Championship from 5-8 September - in case someone can't wait for the start of the new season and wants to check out the preliminary entry lists.

Still no calendar from the Moscow Fed, but I've added the link for the Moscow Junior Championship in the second week of September to the Link Collection. The preliminary entries look exciting, it's pretty much all of the Moscow skaters from Junior Test Skates and then some.

I hope the live streaming will work as always. At the end of last season I noticed that some of the Mainstream streams didn't offer a rewind option anymore and went private as soon as the competition was done. I guess they did that because they actually sell videos of the performances to the skaters' parents. Let's hope it won't become the norm.

This is one of my early highlights of every season. The preliminary line up is ace. If only one third of the current entries is participating, I'm super happy! :party2:

According to SPb Fed's VK page, the stream of their test skates isn't planned. 😞

I'll probably go there. And hopefully there will be fancams.
In that case we are counting on you for live reports and to cheer for the skaters (especially Zhenya and Liza ;) ). Have fun, I'm sure it will be a great event.

In other news, the Moscow Fed has finally published the new calendar. I've added it to the link collection thread.

Zhenya Semenenko is out of St. Petersburg test skates with a knee injury and Andrei Anisimov has disappeared from the entry lists of the Moscow Junior Championships. The season has not even started properly and I am running out of favourite skaters. 😿 Please, please please, everyone get/stay healthy!
