Far too risky to do this event for any Olympic bound athletes. In fact, too risky for any competitor on the road to World Championships too.

Yeah I see no issue with a possible superspreader event, 5 day quarantine and a 7-8 hour time zone change twice in five days either.

Not saying I would cancel the competition, but I sure would send a different team.

Exactly what Canada, USA and Japan have done: different teams to the OG and 4CC. China is not sending teams at all. Now, Canada and US usually send different teams as 4CC is quite close to the OG, but I don't think Japan has done that before. For example Shoma Uno and Boyang Jin had a great fight for first and second place in 2018 - a few weeks before the OG. So I'm surprised to see the Olympic team registered. They've got enough single skaters to comprise two teams, right? I'll keep my fingers crossed for them all!

i agree with all your concerns... sometimes, the federation might send one athlete who did well at nationals but does not yet have enough experience... just to give them more exposure to international events.. or sometimes, it's for world standing points... but right now, and for the entire team? that's really a strange decision to say the least.

Some countries are going as far as not even. sending their first alternates for Olympics. But you do you, KSU.
