2022 JGP Baltic Cup Women's Free Skate

Another clean skate from Nicola! I really liked her rippon lutzes and flips - the arms above the head added to the impression of height, as did the whirling skirt. Marvellous upper body flexibility in her layback spin as well. Her spiral in the choreo sequence was lovely, the way she switched the position of her free leg and just kept gliding on. She ran out of speed in her flying camel spin, but she got the job done, and did it well enough to earn a season's best for the free.

I'm convinced that at least 70 of the 250 programs Benoit Richaud choreographs each season are identical, which is fine if the skaters enjoy their programs, but I do wonder if they're getting value for money.

Noelle improved as the programme went on, and those spins at the end were fantastic. Her illusion turn coming out of the flying sit spin was great, and so balanced I had no concerns about her falling over. It was nice to see her use a tano as well as the rippons in her jumps for some extra variation in arm position. She's going to get better and better as she gets more experience.

Had to rest for a while from FS (yes, I am not healthy, literally) I see Ayumi is worth of rewatch, anything else?

Maria Eliise is such a talented and already really good young skater. Some (minor) issues on some elements, but that doesn't take away from her beautiful skating.

Oh, that was unfortunate for Maria Eliise - she is lovely to watch, everything looking so good until she bumped into the boards. I wonder if that rattled her, as things came unstuck after that, but she pushed through and finished so well. What a beautiful skater, so sensitive to the music. Very pretty dress too!
