2022 JGP Courchevel Women's Free Skate

She wouldn´t have gotten the gold anyway, Hana was just to brilliant today. Don´t be so sad about the silver dear🥰
I don't think she's upset about the silver, she's upset about her mistakes
Ayumi tends to be very consistent and dependable when it comes to delivering clean or cleanish performances
She had a growth spurt last season and lost a bit of stability and confidence but doesn't often make big errors during competition

Does Ayumi have a second event?
She'll likely get one now

Japanese skaters need to place 4th or higher to receive a 2nd JGP assignment (on the extremely rare occasion 5th)

Though the Japanese Women are guaranteed only 1 entry per JGP this season they have been fortunate enough so far to acquire unused spots for events 1,2 and 4

The only way I see Ayumi not getting a 2nd JGP is if~
at least 3 of the of the other 4 Japanese girls already assigned 1 event, place and/or score higher
(Mao likely, Ikura and Ami possibly, Mone less likely~sorry Mone, I still 💗 you)
AND the Japanese fed are only able to send 1 girl to each of the last 3 JGPs

Considering how dependable Ayumi is (more consistent than Ami and Mone) I believe she'll be assigned a 2nd event regardless

I think it is likely Japan can get an extra spot in 2 of the 3 last JGPs. Belgium (eligible for 1 spot in all 7 JGPs) seems to have only girl (assigned to JGP 3 so far).

JSF released the Women's entries for the first 5 JGP events almost 2 months ago, and Mao should have a second assignment at JGP Solidarity Cup (back then still JGP Grenoble). :giggle:

JSF also announced that the entry for JGP Baltic Cup and the two entries for JGP Egna were still to be determined, so JSF still has three entries they can distribute. (And four skaters on the JGP circuit with only one entry (Ayumi, Ikura, Ami and Mone), plus possible skaters without any assignments yet, if JSF chooses to send them.) Chances are quite good for Ayumi to receive a second JGP assignment with the silver here.

I couldn't watch live so catching up late - the top 3 were all sensational. Strong technical skaters (Yujae's 3A ) with a balance of performance ability too, and pretty good programs. It was also such a pleasure to see some unknowns (to me) - Maria and Ella. So much to look forward to this season!

Well, I really liked this competition. Hanna Yoshida was brilliant. She has the 3A to challenge anyone and I liked her program. To me, the top three Juniors are: Mao, Hanna and Jin.

Ayumi with her silver medal has basically guaranteed herself another GP spot. She cried because her axel pop meant no triple combo. So, she knew she lost about ten points there and I think was concerned she would drop down the standings and wouldn’t have a second spot. With no Russians, the Japanese have taken over. I expect 3-4 athletes from Japan in both Junior and Senior finals. The fact that she cried, actually gave me confidence that she will fight and earn a medal at her second event.

The Korean girl was good. She has a 3A! I heard the Korean federation won’t give her a second spot. So, she is out of contention.

My surprises were Maria from Estonia. I loved her. Also, loved the Finnish girl (she just needs to work on endurance) and the Israeli girl.

Also, kudos to Canada for fighting all the way to 6th place. The Canadians girls/womens field is becoming more interesting. I didn’t know that she was from the same camp as Schizas.

Very informative and helpful comment, thanks!

Kaljuvere did so well! I think it was the first skate from what I watched that was like wow! Though I did love Ella Chen as well. Kim is continuing Young You legacy very nicely! That 3A was lovely. I am definitely getting new favs to root for this season here. I would have wished Kim had silver…

Though, I guess, chances for final so far is only for the two Japanese girls. Of them, I think, I personally liked Yoshido far more, but it could have been the dress, not just Shibuyama missing Axel. Because, okay, I am not indifferent to really exceptionally pretty dresses, even though I prefer athletic looks.

Hopefully, quads are coming too in later stages.

Many thanks to Doris and MFarone for making this easy for me to watch the top skaters, I havent watched TV in over 3 months so I couldnt even figure out how to watch my smart TV LOL! So I just hooked up my laptop and rock and rolled with the HDMI into the telly. Such a joy that ISU makes this watchable in HD with good quality music audio on demand and the announcers keep quiet during the performances....Clare, cant wait to see you live at nats.....:love2:
