2022 Olympics: Men's Short Program

What a great short for the men!!

Nathan looks super secure.

Yuma and Shoma looks confident for medals as well.

I don't think Yuzuru can get up there, but it will be wonderful to see him anyway and I hope he slays that 4A.

Gutted for Mozalev who I thought had a great chance for a top 5.

See you all at the free skate!

It's quite something to be second in PCS and still slightly held back on those marks  but that's about what I expected, and he made the final group so I'm thrilled.

What a fun night of skating. So much to look forward to in the free - the competition for the podium should be fierce.

If Hanyu can commit a major error and get 47 PCS a flawless performance then 47 is totally justified for Chen… who did the two hardest quads instead of the 2 easiest quads with one popped to a single.

I'm thinking the OP made that remark considering a world where not only Yuzuru and Nathan exist

OK, stragety question. Why did the Russians farm out their best skater to Georgia? Just for the possibility of getting another Judge on the pannel?
I think it is more a testament to how great the Eteri coaching team are. They have done miracles with Morisi.

I think Moris was a bit of a headcase when he was younger.

Also the RusFed is notoriously impatient. If you don't come out of the gate flying or you falter they'll dump you. This is a particularly stupid strategy with men because they take a while to develop.

Moris does have Georgian roots as evidenced by his last name, so it wasn't entirely random.

That was an incredibly well-skated event. Congratulations to the skaters who did so well! :)

I'm still sad about Roman. What a terrible Olympic experience for him. :( It's too bad that the uncles didn't make the free skate either. That's a bit of a shock, especially for Michal.
they don't like the daddies either... i feel Keegan was very harshly penalized for his step sequence balance check...
