2022 Olympics: Women's Free Skate

Olympic games are the toughest competition. Anna - our new Olympic champion. It was powerful and easy at the same time and your character is your uniqueness.
Sasha you made a history, 5 quads - no matter how you turn it around, it is very coooool. You once again proved the whole world that you are the Russian rocket. Not everything worked out but I am happy that your dream came true.
Kamilla hang on, sometimes you have to fall in order to fly high in the future. You were under enormous stress and you are an athlete that the whole world fell in love. Unique and inimitable.
I am quite sure that for Sasha and Kamila these are not last Olympic games. It is very hard to look at their tears not from the joy of victories. But, Never give up.

Anna won already
She does not need a second chance, and he's telling the girls to not abandon their dream
I think this it the meaning and possibly one of the most gracious post by EP
Thank you, then I understand - it was ment in a comforting way, not to imply that Anna is not worthy of the next Olympics.

One thing I noticed is that it never bodes well for Russia whenever they have the same female skater skating both programs in Teams. Sure Sotnikova was pushed into Gold at Sochi, but in both cases, the female skater ended up drawing a lot of attention AND a lot of bad luck.

Next time, Russia, please divide the girls participation.

This competition should be nullified and either reheld , even if after the Olympics is officially over, or not. The situation was handled badly and in a way to do maximum harm.
The behavior of many is regretful and not something to be admired. As a former judge said, a skater like Valieva comes around once in a hundred years.
She was handicapped before she even set foot on the ice.

Here's the other part of that post:
"ps Today we experienced a historical moment and the evolution of the Olympic Games! In 2010 in Vancouver, I said that the future belongs to quadruple jumps not only for boys, but also for girls, as if looking into the water! I'm even afraid to imagine what jumping content will be at the 2026 and 2030 Olympics!"

Yup, she did flip the bird. Any respect I had for her just flew out the window. If I were the IOC, she wouldn't be getting any medal after that display of poor sportsmanship. It's one thing to have a meltdown backstage, but you DO NOT go in front of the cameras in an official ceremony and make that gesture.

I’m crying over the results. I just finished watching and I must say I’m thrilled over mostly everything.

1) Anna - I wanted her to win the most. Especially, after seeing her family good luck message. She was the most loyal to the camp…. Before they went into the ice, Alexandra asked her a question, and the way she respectfully moved past Sakamoto to listen and then answer just made me fall in love with her even more. She really is a sweetheart. She is never rude and always respectful of everyone around. When they bypassed her for the Team event, I was livid. So, in a way this is the revenge. She has the Olympic Gold and is the World Champion just like Zagitova. This was her best. She couldn’t have skated any better at this event and she combines technical excellence with artistry. A worthy winner. And to all the people I argued with in regards to Anna over Elizaveta to Olympics, prior to Europeans, this is why. She delivers when it counts 😜

2) Alexandra - That was a fierce skate. 5 attempted quads. But, some were shaky. I know she was mad in the background with not winning. But, she really gets higher PCS than she deserves and she should be happy with a silver medal. It is an amazing accomplishment and she delivered her best free skate ever, at the Olympics. Good for her!

3) Kaori - I love her. What a joy to watch her on the podium. She skated just as good as she did at Nationals. The 233 score would have been difficult for any other Russian to surpass as I think Elizaveta’s PB with three 3As is like 0.2 higher. She really deserves this and I’m glad she got her Olympic moment. Only thing I want to add here is the Kaori should really go for 3A next year. I think she has the capability and Kaori with 2 3A’s would be a challenge to defeat.

4) Kamila - The pressure and attention of the scandal destroyed her after her shaky 4S. We will see what happens after this. Is she innocent or guilty? We will find out. I think she will be suspended and we will see Elizaveta at Worlds instead. It is a shame because she really has it all. But, I want to know that a talent like her, has these skills and doesn’t have to cheat.

Wakaba and her 3A….. you go girl
You and Liu….. good attempts at the 3A
Leona…. Your artistry is just beautiful. Shame on the 3S
Gubanova…. Should have scored higher

That is my summary. I’m looking forward to Pairs.

Srsly, Did Trusova really flip the bird during the stuffy ceremony? I just saw a screen cap, and I hope that was a fluke.
It can be characterized as flipping the bird, but it also can be characterized as the way she was holding the panda.

In any case, perhaps a reaction to Eteri telling her to "accept your defeat" right after she just got beat for the Olympic title.
