watched it! there were so good, even though Mark especially was not happy with the performance. he was especially miffed at their liftNica and Mark are skating at the Broadmoor Fall Classic!!!!!
they have 3 junior pairs in the ISP.Will the U.S. even have three qualified teams to Junior Worlds or even if they do will they send three teams.
Yikes I was kidding I think Andy and Adele will improve and hopefully be given another opportunity to get minimums. Ashley and Aaron would be a nice third team and maybe one of these newer teams if they can show some prowess.they have 3 junior pairs in the ISP.
while one is injured and had surgery last week, Naomi said she's not even taking pain meds and thinks she can come back in November, maybe in time for pair finals/sectionals.
The other team is pretty much underwhelming: could not jump for the life of me and currently is the only team below 100 (not to mention being last in the current standings). makes you wonder how in the world did they qualify for the ISP
The team of Luke remains the only real contender
Smith/McPike should match up pretty well in jump/spin ability as they both compete in Novice singles. I'm excited to see how they do in Boston!I totally forgot about Andy and Adele. Balancing college with skating is difficult, so I hope Andy will manage it well. Chapa (of Taich/Chapa novice pairs team) is also balancing college with skating and Chapa said he is trying to schedule his classes during the day so he can skate in the afternoon.
There's a new addition to the ISP - Park, Audrey / Griffin, Carter. While they scored really well in their last NQS, they didn't get the minimum TES score in their NQS competition to qualify for the ISP. But pairs is the only discipline where you can submit a video of your practice for evaluation for the ISP (unlike other disciplines where you have to do it in a competition)
Cayla Smith/Jared McPike is going to make their debut in Boston NQS. They got together only this June and they had to rush programs, albeit watered down versions, to just get a score in the NQS. Jared competes novice men in singles and was intermediate pairs last year. Where to train is a tough issue for them as Jared lives and trains in Colorado Springs while Cayla is in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. And since Jared is homeschooled while Cayla is in school, their initial 50-50 arrangement for training has become 100% training in Ft. Wayne
Today's the free skate of pairs in Broadmoor. Exciting to watch!
Reminds me of 4 Continents when so many pairs teams were exhausted at the end of their programs. Hope everyone recovers quickly!Grace seems ok but they are still checking her. And I thought the junior pairs team Maravilla/Carpenter running out of gas and failed to do the lift was bad enough.
Did you watch live or was there a stream?watched it! there were so good, even though Mark especially was not happy with the performance. he was especially miffed at their lift
I was there. No livestream. It was a super fun crowd. Broadmoor loves their pairs!Did you watch live or was there a stream?
