I love Riverdance & Lord of the Dance, however the short staccato-like moves of Irish step dancing do not translate well to the requirement of gliding moves and turns of ice dancing. It is usually received well by the audience, but not scored well by the judges.

Ben was giving off big Tango Man energy there.

Other than some wobbly moments early on this was good from the Germans. They manage to pack in more tech difficulty now than in the past into their dances. I'm not yet sold about the program though, 1st half was too much of a semi-tango for my liking considering their music.

I’m impressed that they left the difficult stuff requiring perfect synchronization to the end, that takes nerve. I approve!

I must admit, I do love myself some Sinicyn-Karamysheva teams. In particular, they always have fairly strong and sensible program construction for the strengths of the team, which some other coaches/choreographers don't necessarily do, just saying

Although tango has been done a lot, I think this one is a step up for this German team.. They have a nice freedom and flow that they usually do not have. I am more used to them skating heavier and more intensely. I find I prefer this look on them.
