2023 World Championships Free Dance

And yet there are also former skaters who don't enjoy Gilles/Poirier's programs this season, e.g. Ben Agosto. At the end of the day, we all have our personal opinions and biases.
LOL because he choreographed for one of their competitors and his former partner coaches multiple others.

There are those of us who actually appreciate many of those who competed here and not just G/P, but GP did deserve better.

Oh Madi and Evan... I'm so sad that broke the spell of their gorgeous program. They're so lucky it wasn't on an element. This makes three for three winners now who thought their imperfect program cost them the title, only to be happily surprised. Will men make it four?

Yeaaaah, I love Chock/Bates, and I’m glad they won, but getting their highest score of the season after such a mistake and winning by such a large margin is baloney. I was expecting the win because their TES was still over the Italians, but it should have been closer. This puts a bad taste in my mouth.

But I’m not surprised. There’s a reason I sometimes use quotation marks when referring to this “sport.”

The fall wasn’t on an element, and the twizzles stayed on the same edge, ergo -1 and slightly lower GOE on the twizzles. Everything else makes sense, and w the other teams scores, this wasn’t shocking

Well, at least Canada is back to three spots... small victories...
yes ! I am all for the half full glass. Both Canadian teams skated brilliantly tonight ! They both had an excellent competition ! Bravo !
My parrots turned into crows will be in Montreal next year !! YAY !!! Bravo !!!! As for the rest, the Italians... definitely not my cup of tea.. a couple mistakes... but good job for them....

But you know what, winning a title with a big mistake isn't ever going to sink well. That's just sad.. I wished they had won the title with a perfect program.

And again, the world is watching and, if some dedicated fans will understand that the fall wasn't costly in the context of elements, the once a year fans will be wondering how in the world is the team with the biggest mistake still earns a season's best and the title.... again, I repeat myself, it's not good for the sport when people cannot make sense of the scoring... ISU needs to do better if they want to keep people engaged.

Sorry but It kinda grinds me that a ice dance routine with a FALL (which is extremely rare) is able to score this high. All the top couples are basically perfect, a fall should have a bigger impact in ice dance. I know that they fell in during a transition, but then why they are gettin 9,5s in skating skill and performance??? The fall should at least be a -1 for both. Seeing just a 1 point neutral deduction for such an error is ridiculous.

Having said so, congrats to the medalist :hap10:

What I don't understand is how C and B were awarded higher than 9.5 in components when the rules say you can't with a fall. Shouldn't the computer automatically knock down the score? They still would have won but the rules should still apply. Also Fear and Gibson being awarded higher Skating skills then FB and is quite a head scratcher.

The announcer jinxed them when he said all they have to do is skate clean !

I expected them to win despite the fall, as it wasn’t on an element. But the SB doesn’t make sense.
