2024-25 Grand Prix assignments: Updated 11/12/24

The alternates list was updated, the Women and Pairs have had the JGP competitors removed. Ice Dance had Wolfkostin/Tsarevski removed, but Dovhal/Kulesva (who did compete on the JGP) are still on the list.

Not that it matters much, but Maxim Naumov's score should be updated after Skate America.
And Daniel Martynov is still missing?

I think once Daniel Martynov intended for JGP, they took him off. Once off, they aren't added back.

No idea about the score updating, they missed skaters before.

Shouldn´t Fay Ann be added to the alternates list for women? She would not be top on the list, but it seems podium placement at a Challenger should add you to the list?

It´s possible the list ist not updated yet after this weekends score/result?

They updated it, Mihhail Selevko had his score updated.

They're only adding Challenger winners for Singles and Ice Dance. Morozov/Chen weren't added after their silver at Lombardia.

Pairs is the only one where new additions are being made without having to win. Any team that meets the minimum SB is added there.

Ahsun Yun is now second for the women thanks to her Challenger win. Roman is still listed after his withdrawal from his only GP, and Aleksa Rakic's SB was not updated to the one he achieved at Skate Canada (about 10 points higher than what he currently has.) Maxim Naumov's SB wasn't updated to his score at Skate America either. So higher SBs achieved at Grand Prixs aren't updated, but Challengers are? 🤔

Could it be that he withdrew during the competition, not prior to it?
I am pretty sure that's accurate. A skater who doesn't complete their event is not the same as one who w/d before it started.

At the same time, we cannot trust the ISU. Fée Ann is not on the list and she should be,.

but it's different for dance and pairs... wow... that's funny or it isn't ?
It's only different for Pairs. Morozov/Chen weren't added after their medal at Lombardia.
Any Pairs team that meets the minimum SB at a Challenger is added.

And this is why the ISU is losing fans.
I am a follower of the sport and I am just NOW, thanks to your explanation, believe that I finally understand these rules...
So, I can imagine that many people do not. And guess what happens : when someone doesn't understand something, they like it less :)

So let's see if after all that, I got something...

In pairs, as long you as you get the minimum scores, you can be added to the replacement list.

For dance and singles, if you are on the list, your scores will be updated. To be added to the list, you can, only if you win a challenger.

Scores achieved at GP will not be updated.... only challengers.

Is that correct ?

Me dropping watching FS for years because I stopped understanding it...

As to rules in pairs: could it be because there are significantly less competitions for pairs? Not justifying, just asking.

Typically that’s true, but the women’s replacement list this year was shorter

That looks to be how the rules are working. The only thing is that they aren't updating for some like Larson/Kapran in ice dance. So they aren't following their rules strictly.

Reitan/Majorov scores at least were updated after this weekend with the new PB Challenger score, and they made a huge leap the list, I think they had something like 13 teams above them, and now they are nr. 4 on the list. It seems the scores are updating for most already on the list, it´s very weird that some scores doesn´t update.

Could it be that the teams have to do something active themselves to update, send in the new scores? Are Larson/Kapran competing this season? I noticed Paganini is now officially of the replacement list, but Ting, who announced she will be taking a break for the rest of the season at least, is still listed. Maybe she hasn´t notified ISU, but Paganini has?
