Erokhov suspended his sport career:

not unexpected, but still sad
I agree elektrablue. I was delighted and surprised a few years ago when he came back with Butsaeva as his coach after so many injuries, and he had some success. From what I've read, he really enjoys coaching and is doing well at it so I hope that he can continue doing that and is also able to skate in shows.

The Fed has suddenly decided to update the national team after nationals.

Dmitri Aliev is moved to the reserve.
Gleb Lutfullin is included to the main roster.

This is quite strange, isn't it? Has there been a precedent before of the Fed changing the national team mid-season?
(I seem to remember that some skaters were kept on the team for a full year or even two when it was certain they would not compete at all, so this sudden change looks even more inexplicable to me :scratch2:)

Was there any reason given for this? I saw from your posts that they've made changes in all disciplines, but won't lie that I'm a bit worried about Dima here ....

During the ban there were mid-season inclusions. But before the ban there were both mid-season inclusions and exclusions.

No, the documents never give reasons.

I explain this by that they included athletes who placed high at nationals but were not in any of the national teams.

Mom called me yesterday with the (rumors?) that Popov might be moving to Uzbekistan, and if so, I will be overjoyed since this gives me a sliver of a chance to see him live in a competition that otherwise would not have been possible no matter what. Love Smirnova's team and after Mozalev's star declined, Popov was my next fav skater in the men's field. I think the Ispolcom usually sits around this time for the releases? Fingers crossed for Popov, UZB to be a thing.

Oh, that's a no then based on the citizenship/residence requirement unless Popov has a dual citizenship. But no high profile transfers quote probably eliminates him since he has medaled in the Cup/jumping tournament before. Samodelkina aced it...

EDIT: Yeah, full quote from Sukhalaridze basically confirms they don't even consider it unless the skaters permanently move to another country.
