There are dark corners of the internet (this my safe space ) where there is an irrational anti-Eteri bias. She is accused of all kinds of horrible things with no proof (show me the proof I'll change my mind). However, they have allowed their biases (or maybe it's a reflection on their education systems, English not their first language, etc) to cloud their interpretation of this rule.

It definitely refers to not associating with skater serving a suspension, not skaters who have served a suspension.

If we applied this logic to every skater in the world, the Japanese who is with Kostner would banned, anyone training with Grassl, etc.

I have a feeling Moscow will be quite strong..

Personally, I've never believed that Eteri had anything to do with the Valieva situation. Why would she jeopardize her career like that? She wouldn't. Nor would she need to. She has a stable of the top talent in Russia. Not all will have long careers, that is figure skating. Plenty of Americans, and Japanese skaters get injured and are finished before they are out of the teens. As far as the other thing she is constantly accused of: I think what ever transpired was between Kamila, her mother and the doctor. Eteri is like the 'general manager' and she isn't privy to every detail of a skaters' life.

The Fed has suddenly decided to update the national team mid-season.

The only change in women's is Kira Trofimova being removed.

Lena Kostyleva skated in a Moscow Region competition today, scoring 226.36 in total.
She did a 3Aq+3T in the Short and she skated a clean Free with her usual layout (3A, 4T, 4S+3T, 3Lo, 4Sq+2A+2A, 3F+3T).

It will be interesting to see if they risk the 3A+3T at Jr Nationals.

She has sat out of competition for approaching two years now, if she skated in this tournament she would have had to start the process for transferring country all over again.
Skaters do not have to sit out from domestic competitions to transfer. Arina Kalugina competed at All-Russian competitions this season and was able to transfer to Azerbaijan, while Geynish/Chigirev competed at All-Russian competitions last season before transferring.

Maybe the Azerbaijanis don't want her competing before transferring?
