There are dark corners of the internet (this my safe space ) where there is an irrational anti-Eteri bias. She is accused of all kinds of horrible things with no proof (show me the proof I'll change my mind). However, they have allowed their biases (or maybe it's a reflection on their education systems, English not their first language, etc) to cloud their interpretation of this rule.

It definitely refers to not associating with skater serving a suspension, not skaters who have served a suspension.

If we applied this logic to every skater in the world, the Japanese who is with Kostner would banned, anyone training with Grassl, etc.

She didnt even need a 3-3. A well executed 3-2 could've been enough. She got negative for it. Her other jumps got 3s and 4s. It would've affected her PCS a bit too by keeping up the momentum. A clean 3-2 and its probably bronze all things considered. She needed less than 2 extra points overall.

Petrosian is not unstable for not scoring 260 every event. Thats unheard of. Go check her skating scores profile, she doesnt lose. She always scores over 230 at least. Her total meltdowns are 230s. She had none this year. Meanwhile multiple 240s, 250s... Its consistency if she never loses. Im not saying shes a robot. Who else does what she does?Maybe we have different definitions of consistent, absolute consistency vs relative consistency. Frolova for example is absolutely consistent because she always does what she is supposed to. Petrosian is relatively consistent because although she doesnt skate perfect every time, she is not even playing the same game as the others. She is consistently in a different game. She never drops to the level of anybody else even if she doesnt reach the highest point of her own level. She is consistently in her own level. Her competitive level is extremely consistent. The most consistent by far. Go check my break down in the Russian ladies thread from way back. She is 3rd all time for 2-season average scoring, by 1 point. Right now shes set for 2nd by a landslide, 1st if ignoring Valieva's DQ. And after this season she will have the highest average senior career score of all time in any case unless she literally falls on everything at GPF. Including all of Valieva's DQs and probably even discluding her meltdown (I'll check it when I recalculate after GPF)! That is the definition of consistency. She is literally on track to be the most consistent senior skater of all time, statistically; not opinion.

Mura against Petrosian was a different level than against Akateva. Way better and more dangerous than Tuktamysheva. The only real difference is Valieva was in better form against Akateva. But Petrosian beat all them too at the GPF that year. Akateva is a genius I rewatched her old SP recently it was borderline Valieva level but all she really had on Adeliia overall is a 4S which isnt meaningful enough. She skated all her tech perfectly and scored 250. Adeliia is over 260. What do you suppose Akateva could have added to close the gap? Adeliia didnt even jump the 4F. @uwoawuwoa and I already debated this through massive academic essays in the russian ladies thread you can reply to my posts there if you want to continue this discussion. He argued for Akateva but basically conceded Petrosian is better in the end though we like them both.

That's why i said she's not stable. She's in a position where no one can do her layouts, she's alone. She can fall and still win. So as many skaters who were/are in this position, she competes with way less pressure. So she could have been cleaner.

As n.1 with no one who can competes with her now, the GOEs and PCS wil rain anyway. Just look at her SP score despite mid jumps.

When there was actual competition, she was even less clean. Even her 1st win at GPF was with multiple errors.

The only thing that can make me think that Adeliya would have been better than Sofia anyway is growth. "Unfortunately" Sofia doesn't have the same body type than Adeliya and it's harder in her case to retain the hardest jumps. I think she was already struggling with puberty in the season she won Rusnats. Maybe she would have lost her quads even with no injury, or they would have became very inconsistent.

Anyway, i'll read those academic essays.

Well, completely unrelated to the previous discussions, I just saw that Litvincheva recently attempted a 4S in competition. It was downgraded, but I didn't even realize she was training one not sure how much success she'll have with it, though.

Davydov's team tries quads with many skaters, though only few get them stable unfortunately. But I surely wish Litvincheva success with it.
