2024 CS Nebelhorn Trophy Free Dance

Is there a link to Zingas/ Kolesnik's FD? I can't find it.

nm, I found it:

I don't understand what F/G's FD had to do with the music at all. I always feel that I should like them more than I do...

Really excited for UtaMasa, hope they continue to grow because their FD looks so promising!

I loved the first half too! The music really captivated me too.
I never heard of choreographers giving rules like that, they should be happy top ice dancers are showcasing their programs and the cartwheels don't make any sense to me.
I also liked parts of CPom Carmen, the phrasing to the music was pretty good. I think Anthony's costume needs to be darker though.
In my opinion it's an exciting time for US ice dance but Green/Parsons need to watch out if they are to make it to worlds this season!
I loved ZK’s free, start to finish, including the cartwheels., I think they may very well make a few changes as the season evolves but in consultation with Benoit.

This is by far my favorite FD of the season so far.

Thanks! This gave me an opportunity for a second look and reflect on the why I liked the first half so much.

It's the opening one-foot sequence. That may be my favorite example of that element since Hawayek/Baker - who IMO were the best ever on one foot.

Nice edges, I loved the spiral, and I loved the swing into those interesting slow-motion twizzles to wrap up the sequence. That element really grabbed my attention and maintained it. Until, like I said, the cartwheels.

I don´t know if it was Christinas's choice or someone else's advise, because his costume is not better... but they seriously need to burn those costumes. It happens sometimes, everybody makes mistakes. It's easy to fix, they just have to burn them.

This is gonna be a subjective opinion, but I have a problem with the music of Carmen (that I love), I think that figure skating should "retire" some musics, the same way that basketball and other team sports retire shirt numbers. I haven't seen any interesting Carmen since Virtue-Moire's program, and this is not an exception but it's disturbing knowing that Scott (and maybe Tessa) have work in that choreo. I don´t know, maybe if they change the costumes later in the season, I can give them the benefit of the doubte and watch it again.
I didn't mind the Carmen so much. It wasn't the operatic version. Some sort of variation, and I thought it was interesting in places. And they had some very good elements that are only going to get better.

But I am in full agreement on his costume. I'm not a fan who cares a whole lot about that generally, but a costume shouldn't make a person look worse. It's the same issue I had with Paul P's costume last year for Wuthering Heights. It makes the dude look fat and boxy - and these are ice dancing men - in superb shape.

And, at the risk of piling on, his hair and the 'stache vaguely remind me of Charlie Chaplin in the old black-and-white movies. Not the vibe they're going for, I suspect. Buy now I can't "unsee" it.
