Okay JSF, I realize budget is tight but a Japanese Dance team placing 6th overall out of 19 entries in a JGP should more than justify a 2nd assignment!
Especially for a team that IMO, could have and should have been sent out to compete years ago if only to gain valuable experience.
Had they been properly invested in and given opportunities as a young Junior team, perhaps their skills would be more developed and competitive internationally.
JGP assignments should not only be designated for possible podium contenders but also those who show potential and dedication and could benefit from the experience.
I loved them and agree that they need another assignment.
It hurt to watch them in the Kiss and Cry.
If you want to develop better dancers you have to let them develop for good or bad.
Sometimes the just misses and bad skates are the kind of learning experiences needed to provide fuel for the competitive fire.

Hm. Maybe I'm in the wrong, but junior FD has just 7 elements..? Twizzles, 2 lifts, one foot step sequence, step sequence and 2 choreo elements? I do not recall juniors having 3 choreo elements, nor 3 lifts.
But do they all need 2 choreo elements? Because some only have one.

No, it seems many are missing a choreo element... Maybe I'm reading it wrong.

Like the Italian team, US team, Can team, etc
The US team had a fall and didn't cover the whole width of the rink due to it. As that is a requirement for the choreo character steps, they weren't credited the element.

Similarly, I assume the other choreo elements did not fulfill requirements and thus weren't called.
Briere/Levesque and Finelli/Bucciarelli attempted two similar Choreographic Hydroblading Movements, with the man doing a lunge-like movement and the woman doing a spread eagle/Besti squat. Seems like this can't be considered a hydroblading movement or a choreographic slide.
The young Hungarians, Szilagy/Jaracs, did a choreo sliding movement, but I think it was less than the required 2 seconds of simultaneous on-ice sliding.

Briere/Levesque have competed this FD twice domestically, so any issues with the hydroblading movement really should have been caught before this JGP. Definitely not great that it wasn't.

I don't think moving to Seniors would have been a good move either after seeing this.
They were already competing in seniors last season, and they were not bad for a new team, just not good enough to compete with the US top teams. It's likely that they are going to get better as the season progresses.
