BTW I know 3 languages, but all use latin alphabet and I struggled trying to learn Russian and gave up Japanese quickly, so kudos for you.

Same. I'd love to be able to speak more languages. I'm fluent in German, quite good in English as I studied it but nowhere near fluent right now I think, and I speak a tiny little bit of French. I'd love to speak Russian because my bf's family is from Kyrgyzstan and Japanese and Korean would be nice but every language that doesn't use latin letters confuses me

It's friggin complicated, there are almost no written sources about this period and those that exist are in Latin (this should be my fourth language, but it was soooo long ago when I learned and used it...). So Żurawek is probably a distortion. But Świerad is a form of old slavic name and it is plausible that he used this name.
