I think that battle's been lost - driving home today past three high schools as the students were being let out, I noticed that at least 8 out of 10 of the kids (from about 12 to 17-18 in age, I think?) were on their phone as they walked or at least had it in their hand ready.
I mean, mine is off most of the time because I forget I have it but it isn't only the young who feel naked and missing a limb if it's not firmly glued to their ear....

I didn't have a mobile phone until I was 14, and the one I got was a good old Nokia 3310 because smartphones weren't a thing yet. And I still survived somehow
It's well seeing we're more or less the same age!
I'm trying to think back, and I can't remember seeing anybody with a mobile phone when I was at school. But, then again, my school did have a policy of not allowing them. So, if anybody did have one, they probably just didn't see the point of bringing it with them.
Which is probably why I am amazed when I hear stories nowadays about kids getting distracted by their phones in class. Because, I would have thought all schools would have had a no phone policy like mine did. Especially given the way they have become so widespread and have evolved so much since our day.
Ach, I'm just a grumpy old man!
The question is - am I Jack Lemon or Walter Mathau...?

Anna has wonderful sharpness of movement. I guess that's musicality, in a way? There don't seem to be many juniors who could make this music or choreography work so hats off to her for doing that.

There have been several news pieces on her on local TV stations, she seems to be seen as a great talent here. And we really need that

Agreed. That was fresh and sharp, maybe not as technically good as Mao but for me the most interesting and fun to watch so far. Great costume too. Must make a note to watch this girl.Back on topic, I think Anna did really well except for the spin

Hey, I just realised - the lady with blonde hair sitting with Anna is Viktoriia Lopusova! A former Ice Dance partner of one of my kids, Asaf Kazimov.
Not a bad skate.
Everybody sitting waiting for the scores is happy.
And rightly so - she goes into 5th. Just 1.01 points behind Sarina Joos.
