2025-2026 French Figure Skating

As the French federation has (at least) three websites, two of which are not that easy to find, I thought it might be helpful to link them here:

General website
Website for Singles and Pairs skating
Website for Ice Dance and Solo Dance

Both of the discipline-specific websites include an expanded domestic competition schedule and domestic season's rankings of French skaters.

I don't know whether to thank you or curse you!

A month ago, I made a Fan Fest for a French skater, in preparation for posting it on his birthday this coming week. And now I am having to completely re-do most of it at the last minute, because of finding out about the CSNPA database. :drama:

Seriously, though, what an invaluable resource! For years I have been so angry about the way the sport is run in France. One thing that particularly annoyed me was the way that all past Entries / Results pages from French competitions disappeared a few years ago. However, it has now turned out that most of them were moved to different addresses, but because re-directs were not set up, most of us didn't know.

So, thank you for letting us know. :cheer:  :points:

:thank:

I put this info in the OP so it will always be easy to find. :cheer::cheer: Thank you, @Jumping_Bean !

Not strictly French skating, but I read today that Romain Ponsart (former French skater and now coach) has a relationship with Lois Libregts who used to (figure) skate for The Netherlands. she actually also skated long track for a short while, but is now into coaching with Romain. The article is in Dutch and is all about the above.

Also I've updated the OP: I added JGP assignments, changed some of the Grand Prix de France TBDs to assigned skaters, and added program info.

Today the French Masters de Patinage is starting. The entrees, starting orders, and resultspage can be found here:
https://www.ffsg.org/resultats/2025-2026/MASTERS2025/index.htm.

You should be able to find the stream here: https://www.youtube.com/@FFsportsdeglace.

For both links I thank @paulusfr.

To me it's funny that where many countries have quite a few women in the mix, and hardly any men, in France it's the other way round. A line up of 11 men (and that includes Davide Lewton-Brain from Monaco) while there's only 4 women competing (and there's a Belgian woman included there). ID is also very popular with 8 couples lined up. I think it will be the first serious competition of Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron. Pairs less so (only 3 couples). I wish them all a lot of success!

Thanks ladyjane - you beat me to it! And I'm glad you did. :thank:

The Belgian woman is Jade Hovine. In addition to her and Davide Lewton-Brain, there's also a Hungarian ice dance team - Emese Csiszer / Mark Shapiro. I'm not familiar with them.

Sadly, Francois Pitot did not manage to grab an Olympics spot (he was the one elected to earn the third spot for France in the Olympic Qualifier competition). He ended in 7th place. As France allready has two spots for men, his placement cannot be considered as an alternate spot for France (his placement would have led to being second alternate otherwise), as a country will only be considered for a spot who has not qualified a spot yet. I heard this last from Jackie Wong who read this part of the qualification rules out loud in his podcast.

Unfortunately the Kovalevs also didn't qualify at Skate to Milano either. They were 2nd in the SP but fell to 4th after the free skate, and only three spots were available. I don't know if they still might be able to get in the Team event since France has spots in Men's, Women's, and Dance.

Davide Lewton Brain of Monaco looked great, and was also heartbreakingly close. He came in 6th and was .76 from 5th place after being 5th in the SP. There were five spots available.

A tough weekend for the French/Monégasque skaters. :(

There are rumours that a fourth Pairs spot might open, then the Kovalevs would be able to participate in the individual event? Of course it's by no way granted, it's not even highly probable as a pair said to be splitting and withdrawn from Grand Prix may still manage to skate together for Olympics.
