2025-26 Skate Ontario Jr/Sr Sectionals | Nov 6-9

Reese - that looked like a 3-3 to start. Then a pop. Falls going into a spin and looks surprised by that. Gets a combo, then a pop. 3 jump combo :jump3: Ends the jumping passes with a 1A. I think that's the most solid free I've seen from Reese this season.

Minsol cut her hand, gets a kleenex and tries not to get blood on the goat.

Free 132.8, total 196.61

1 - Minsol
2 - Lulu
3 - Reese

The stream stayed on long enough to show someone taking the goat out of the kiss and cry after a day of providing emotional support to the skaters.

Really impressed with Lulu’s skate and comeback. She is so powerful and watchable. Love to see her happy.

Minsol’s skate was the best I have seen from her - she seems to be more emotionally engaged as well as better flow with better jump landings.

After seeing great shorts from Gabby and Kaiya today (fingers crossed for tomorrow), Cdn women at nationals should be really exciting

Junior Pairs warming up for the short. Megan Churchill is commenting for the rest of the day and has Christopher Mabee with her.

Lucia/James - I like starting with a death spiral. She has a spinout on the jumps (2Lo), foot touches down on the throw. Now I've got the stream buffering. Spins not in sync, he faces the wrong way coming out of it.

Emotional support goat is back in the kiss and cry. 34.63

Dion/Cote - hand down on the 2A for Brianna. He looks like he's spinning faster than her. I got nervous watching his feet during the lift. Throw was nice. They come off faster than Lucia/James.

Chris has some interesting commentary on their energy levels being more similar this time, and I was noticing it more this time.

48.31

Laiu/Haubrich - had to fight for the landing on the axels. She looked a bit tentative switching positions in the lift. Nice throw (3TTh identified by Mabee.) Marty's camel was having issues in the spin.

They're the strongest pair, but I would be surprised if they weren't since they keep reminding everyone how experienced Marty is. 52.49

That's it for the Christopher Mabee commentary, he won't be here for the Junior Women.

First group of Junior Women warming up, no withdrawals. Raoul Leblanc back on the technical panel.

Katherine Short (coordinator of provincial programs) joining for commentary this time. Okay, it was only to talk about the coaches conference.

Ksenia - landed the opening loop and 2A. Has to fight on the combo to get it out. Really like the step sequence for her. 58.52, she looked surprised in a good way.
I’m so happy for Ksenia. Maybe, with all the focus on the 3Lo, this forced her to focus and master this jump

Second warm-up group on the ice now, Victoria withdrew.
That is the problem with ONT sectionals. There are so many spots, you don’t even have to compete.

I assume there are less than 14 girls with TES scores of 35.50. Also, I assume with the 6 girls bonus rule, she would have a high enough ranking to nab one of those spots anyways

Victoria has a bye to Challenge, so she doesn't count towards Ontario's quota (y)
