Yagudin and Kolyada discussed that he might have did his boots really tight to land jumps. Apparently, looser lacing helps showing edges, and tighter one for jumpingHold on, why is Vlad lying on the ice after his skate holding his ankle? Really hope he is not hurt

His levels and PCS are far superior too, though. He's just going to peak higher than Dikidzhi if they're both at their reasonable best. I don't think it'll matter with international judging anyways.

Yes, even though I am a Gumennik fan, I wonder if Dikidzhi would have been a safer bet...

He never skated abroad though as far as I remember. Gumennik at least did as a junior for a few years.

Vlad normally doesn't lose levels on his spins. But they might be worse GOE-wise.
Vlad had great jumps and of course, his tech is like 20 or 30 points ahead of everybody else. Good for him, he always seems like a nice and humble person and the whole Olympics stuff must not have been easy for him, so I'm happy for him that he gets a victory here.
But let's all take a moment to focus on what is truly amazing here: Arthur has a SILVER!! Silver I tell you! After God knows how many years of fighting against injuries, emotional crises and what not, he is back on a podium with great programs, great skates and a huge smile on his face! On and upwards Arthur!

Oh, I think they made the right choice, but I want to see Dikidzhe compete against the rest of the men. Malinin is so far ahead of the rest of the field, the GP events are boring since everybody knows the rest of the field is competing for silver and bronze and either Petr or Vlad can be in the mix for the podium.

Vlad‘s program still has to grow. He is slowly improving in PCS.

Ok, I don't have a perfect breakdown but just eye-balling the GP scoring so far, I think 12 should be enough for top 18. Vetlugin has a buffer for a couple places if some random skater has a miracle event and passes him. The problem is I doubt his total score will be good for a tie-breaker if it comes down to that.

Arthur and Melnikov were the highlight for me today. I still love the diva Matvey (go to ice dance, Matvey!).

I'm not sure. Looking at his FS scores I'm not finding any with perfect spin levels from last season.

I believe in conclusion across both singles events, this was still the only StSq4.
