2025-26 Russian Junior Grand Prix - Stage 1 - Moscow

Dzpeka should be the clear winner here, but I'm interested in how Sharapova, Smagina, and Sonya S stack up against each other. And ofc, there's Diana and Kira with podium chances
Milto and Sarnovskaya have very real chances to beat Dzepka. Dzepka will of course take the SP, but she has not been looking her best. Its not unlikely she has issues in the FS then only one of the other two would need to land their quad, both of which are also not unlikely.

No offense to them, but Milto and Sarnovskaya are way more inconsistent than Dzepka, so even with a landed ultra-c jump, I wouldn't hold my breath on them beating her. Sarnovskaya has been struggling on that 3A since she first started attempting it last season and neither of the Milto sisters have ever been what I'd describe as consistent. And neither of their pcs should be anywhere near Dzepka's
But Dzepka did well at her last event, landing both of her quads, so I wouldn't say she hasn't been looking her best (and even at the one before that where she was a bit messy, she was still 30+ points ahead of both Diana and Sonya)

I didn't see Dzepka's recent performance. If she landed 2 quads and was clean she is in better shape than I thought. Hard to beat. I was more interested in Sarnovskaya's 4S than 3A, though.

Well, if she goes for two 4S and 3A here, I will brace myself for a potential disaster :slink:

I definitely am not predicting that. I did concede Dzepka was the favourite from the start, my thought was just a potential bad FS from Dzepka and a single 4S from either of the others would put them above her. I just found it highly plausible, not necessarily likely. But if Dzepka is in better form than I thought, it could be far fetched.

I suppose she will go for one 4S and one 4T like the last time, she doesn't need more in this starting field.

To be clear, I was talking about Sonya, not Dzepka

Gorbunova's dress reminds me of something 🤔 As a new team, there's definitely still a lot of red in the wordle, also some nice elemetns like the twist and the lifts (particularly the second lift was very interesting). Promising, just not quite there yet.

Oh dear, bad start for Zvezdina / Sheremet. 3Tw<< Fall, 2A+combo fall, two-footed landing on the throws :( They foiught to come back from that, but nobody will be happy with this skate. I hope they have a better skate next time.

One fall on the second throw for Filimonova / Pylnev, but otherwise a good skate. I like the program too, even if there are now quite a few Cruella de Vil programs across disciplines :D

That was pretty good. I thought their first couple elements were very synced. I was surprised they got lower GOEs there, but I dont have much context for what is standard in pairs. Clean Lutz and Loop in pairs is pretty high level.

A step-out on the 3Lz and only a two-jump combination instead of a 3-jump one, but Nastya and Petr were so confident otherwise. Very good skate for them.
