2025 BC Super Series Summer Skate | Aug 14-17

i am actually feeling confused : it's such a beautiful day out, hot and sunny but not too hot.. and i am inside. I should be rolling in the grass somewhere. I swam earlier... i gardened.... I made a summery lunch.... i don't work today like all Fridays during the summer. But still... i am inside, watching boys struggling to get things landed. I am confused.
How about laying in the grass and watching skating at the same time? It might make the 🌵 more bearable...

the grass near me ... i live next to a park... is probably full of dog poo.... and it is also burned.. all yellow... not enough rain.. i hadn't seen this in montreal ever. It's a common thing in BC has they do not get much rain during the summer... but yeah

also... i don't think my wifi would carry that far :) but yeah... nice idea.

so far.. not much to talk about in Aleksa's skate but the 3loop-3loop combo... not many people use it nowadays...

Okay... I am going to do something with my life... probably the gym or a walk or both :) i just feel the sun is too bright and the sky too blue to look at a dark sheet of ice

tschüssi !

They are on the same score!!! Did Matthew get it on PCS for the free?
Matthew got it for being first in the free from the Skate Canada rules:

In cases of ties after the final score the competitor(s) with the highest score for the last skated Segment is placed first, second, third, etc. If there is a tie in the highest score, the better placement will decide the better place. In ice dancing, if two pattern dances are to be skated, both dances are even in value. There is no tie-breaking criterion for the second dance.

Yes. I've realised after I posted that it was tied overall which means the FP is the decider. I was getting confused with a tied FP score (where I think it is PCS, whereas a tied SP score it is TES).

this wasn't too bad for the jumps for David Li... i think he needs work on spins though... not so good... that worries me more than jumps at this point in the season...
Was that a 4S attempt? It looked better than his 3A a few months ago. Yeah, spins were a little rough, but its just a few tweaks in catching the right momentum here and there when changing position. What stands out to me is his increase in speed throughout the program and his jump technique which has improved in the last year, there's more flow on the landings. I also really like the free program, I think it suits him. Kinda hope Skate Canada will give him a Junior B assignment along with Parker since they were not at Cranberry Cup.

[One hour later]

Seems like a lot of the boys (both Junior and Senior) need to work on spins, but that's the nature of most boys. More chaotic than girls who tend to be more organized and meticulous when it comes to spins. But that is why I like watching boys the most, they're more unpredictable. "It's men's skating, anything can happen"

Wait, did David Li have the only quad attempt of the free program? And it was only under? Impressive

yeah...and he almost did the from last to first LOL... impressive. Matthew, Alberta boy, did have two solid triple axels but it wasn't a technically exciting event.
