The landings of those triple axels were gorgeousyeah...and he almost did the from last to first LOL... impressive. Matthew, Alberta boy, did have two solid triple axels but it wasn't a technically exciting event.
I'm just catching up on Cranberry Cup Juniors and Seniors, the USFS stock music is painful. Why do they do this? ISU doesn't, right?this event was quite disappointing.. but at the same time, it's hard to beat our juniors at Cranberry
I only realized it was a Benoit program during the step sequence...It's a Benoit Richaud program, I don't think any of the commentators explained the story behind it.
The Kelowna skaters tend to be good performers. I sometimes wish we could take the technical focus of Champs and the performance of Kelowna - we'd probably end up with a really good skater. This music was making me sleepy then when it kicked into Shania Twain, Emily seemed to really get into it. I love when a skater is actually smiling not just faking it to the judges.
I would say that Connaught tends to give skaters a reasonable balance, but they have quite a few at the moment who are inconsistent.Amy really is a great performer, it sucks the jumps just weren't all there today. Even with falls, I'm still impressed. I'm ignorant on Canadian skating, but I'm guessing Connaught skaters are also known for components over technical? Next time the jumps will happen!
They could have a skate-off at High Performance Camp, that should be around the end of the month.I like Uliana's jumpsuit. Only one pop and some shakier landings. I think the TBD is between her, Gabby, and Kaiya. I wonder if there's a challenger they could go up against each other for the spot.
