Notes:
I don't think I properly appreciated how lovely and polished Annika's skating was last season - I think this season's programs are better fits? - but she's a breath of fresh air after a long competition of really hard performances. Obviously not perfect, but soooo much stronger than the last few skates. The Rippon jump epidemic continues, but Annika can have hers because she actually landed all of them with the correct number of rotations

Annika. Pretty dress. She has a certain polish to her skating. Really good skate.

Not a perfect skate, but it's marvelous into what a mature and elegant skater Annika has blossomed.

Notes:
So now we've gone from "maybe lucky if they hit four triples" to "two 3As and a quad." One of the triple axels didn't make it, granted, but the whiplash is still wild. I'm not a proponent of the push for ultra-Cs, but she did nail most of them here.

I wasn't sure about it, but now I think this program actually suits Sophie quite well - she has a certain intensity about her, and it's sophisticated but in a way she can obviously handle at this stage in her career. I like it!

Wow! Sophie’s 3A are so high. Also, she landed a 4S. I think it was <. But, wonderful effort.

USA’s best junior is Sherry (wonderful artistry) AND Sophie (Technical content extraordinaire). If you can merge these two athletes to one, you’d have the complete package.

Yup great score. Not her highest total score .I think that was 197

A technically very ambitious and well-executed skate, no doubt. Rotation on some jumps might be questionable, but that doesn't matter for winning this competition. The number of crossovers, particularly in the first half, does bother me, though. I understand why they are there, but I don't have to like them.

And please, for the love of God, skaters, hold your ending positions at least until the music is actually over.
