2025 Cup of China Women's Free Skate

I love Alysa, but it's hard for me to do MacArthur Park two years in a row (such bad lyrics). Having said that, Alysa is one of the best competitors in figure skating today. Do I think that the program would have been perfect it this was the GPF or Worlds? Yes, that's how much I trust her.

Wow - Amazing job, Alysa! :) She's such a strong competitor. You can just sit back and watch her, trusting that she'll get things done. I don't love when skaters go back to old programs, but I totally understand it in her case, for both programs. This program is a great fit for her, and it stands out amongst a sea of 'pretty' programs. She looks fantastic in her gold dress, with her jaunty ponytail. :)

I love this song 💛 Well done. Tbh, she's not doing anything really difficult in terms on transitions and choreography (comparing to some other girls) but it's very watchable and her consistency can't be denied. I don't remember seeing any major mistakes from her for a long time.

Honestly, nothing against any of the skaters, but comparing GOEs across skaters sometimes makes me crazy. Like, what do you mean, this big, flowy and easy jump got lower GOE than the same jump done a little less well in a later group?

Oh, well, nothing specific about Alysa's skate, just thinking of Ruiyang's 3F and 3S, which did get good GOEs but below what they could have been for a different skater/later starter.

Not perfect, but a good fight for Alysa.

I think Alysa has matured into someone we want to love. I don't quite (I like her a lot!) but I have no problem seeing why many people do. And I do think that dress is perfect for her.

Alisa skates small, URs, weird lutz technique, Chris says she has perfect technique  , but the upbeat music, warm glow inside or whatever, and consistency, she is the least controversial of American ladies, I guess. She had fun and lost to Amber who worked what - 2-3 points?
