I don’t know about that. I’m not an expert or a judge. But, Petrokina’s jumps are better than Nina’s jumps.Looking at the score sheet for Petrokina is insane. Six 3's and one 4 for that rough opening combo while Nastya had a great 3-3 opening combo and got a couple of 1's.
If we use how they judged Pinzaronne as the benchmark, then Petrokina's first 3F was a q, the 3Lz and 3S in the euler were both a q with the 3S a possible underrotation, then the 3F at the end is at the very least also on the q.
It didn't change the result because I think 130 is about Nastya's absolute maximum, but I felt like when you contrast how they picked apart Pinzaronne then two skaters later they are giving 3's and 4's for an ordinary combo and overlooking a minimum of 4 clear q's, then you have to say the officials either had an agendaor simply not competent and too easily manipulated by what's happening around with crowd noise, emotion, story of the home town hero, etc.
Not to take anything away from Petrokina because she is the deserved winner, but she didn't need the judges trying to take it 100% out of Gubanova's hands (or pick apart Pinzaronne).
I agree that Petrokina was overscored though… but, she is the rightful winner.
I think the crowd makes a difference. That is why it is a huge advantage to have the home crowd advantage. The audience claps louder for their athletes and often leads to inflated scores.
Anyways, I was rooting for Nina P to win at home. So, I’m happy for her. She was under scored so many times prior to this event. So, this is sweet revenge for me

There is good chance I won't score more than 110 points. I didn't believe in Vova, did believe in Katia
Petrokina's jumps were better than Pinzaronne, but they judged them differently. Pinzaronne's first two jump elements where she got three q's were no different to Petrokina's landings especially from the 3F (4th element onwards), but even the opening combo was a problem for Petrokina
This is Petrokina's 2A in the opening combo. The agenda was quite clear for each skater. I'll go through the rest when I have time. It's fortunate for Pinzaronne that Kimmy had a disaster skate otherwise she would have been off the podium through no fault of her own.

Congrats to the medallists. Exxciting to see the new or newer blood. Some good skating - honestly not great -not memorable programs and technically we have seen far harder but this is the best Europe has to offer. It was entertaining.

Like you, I also left Pezetta out and included Kurakova. But the difference is that I was always putting Kurakova into 3rd, and wasn't considering Pezetta for a Top 5. The swap I made was taking Schild out of 5th and putting Gutmann in there instead. And that swap was what ultimately won me the
Silver Medal, because it meant I had 3 skaters in the correct position.But, that doesn't matter. The thing that matters, and which we should celebrate, is that we both had faith in Niina.

Nina's program was my favorite. Sublime and delicate skating, very detailed choreography. If only she could gain more power in her jumps!
Niina's skating suprised me the most. Very secure and powerful jumps and I loved the step sequence. Not because it was an exceptionally good step sequence, but it fitted the intensity of the situation.
Anastasiia, I'm sorry, but I hated the music and this type of program. I feel like we have seen this kind of program a million times by now and the grating violin didn't help. She was on though, I was suprised by her technical score. But I would have really hated to see this winning, because I disliked this program so much. Felt the same about Lara's program. Her short is so innovative, but the free is just boring.

Nina's free program has grown on me. I hate the voice overs but the nocturne is nice and unusual and the dress is soooo elegant. Congrats to the British and Romainan ladies for getting two spots next year. I rather like Julia Sauter, she could do more interesting programs, she has the skill, I think.
